Just wondering whatss the best method to cleaning a nitro truck, i have some of that Nitro cleaner stuff and it works great on getting the burnt fuel off the side of my truck just dosnt seem to get dirts off when the stuff evaporates the dirt is still there. Also what kind of tools do u you use ? toothbrush, paintbrush, paper towel ? any advice will be greatly appreciated

a straw and a strong pair of lungs. lol

Nah just use a soft bristled narrow paintbrussh, a tooth brush works good in uncrowded areas, and q-tips.

cool ill try that. and do you use soap and water ?

i try to use as little water as possible on/near my rc's just due to the fact that metal, and especially the cheap metal that most rigs come with, will rust fairly quickly.

Simple green works wonders. I use it on the tires. I try to run them under the water as little as possible to keep water from getting inside to the foam. A toothbrush is necessary for me to get the crap out of the tread.
Also, denatured alcohol in a squirt bottle is the best. Put the truck butt end first in your sink (or do this outside) and spray it on the nasty areas. It isn't water, so it won't rust up the truck, and it evaporates fast. I like to do my cleaning in this order.

1. Spray off dirt with air compressor. (skip obviously if you don't have one.)
2. Clean with paintbrush. (I have a big one and a small one.)
3. Spray simple green on really dirty areas.
4. Rinse simple green off of truck with denatured alcohol.
5. Clean engine with denatured alcohol.
6. Wash tires in sink with simple green and leave out to dry on paper towels.
7. Final blow off with air compressor.
8. Wash body in sink.

done.

cool thanks ill try that one thing thou lol whats denatured alcohol

Go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and you can find denatured alcohol in the paint aisle. It's a good cheap cleaner.

It's basically alcohol that is denatured, hence the name denatured alcohol. LOL

Denaturing is the process of rendering a substance (in this case the alcohol) unfit for consumption without removing it's other qualities. They do this by adding methanol to ethyl alcohol.

Thanks for that! I always wondered exactly what it meant but was too lazy to look it up....LOL. Makes sense, otherwise that would be a really cheap way to get drunk........if you could actually stomach drinking it.

haha, but dose that stuff work better than the nitro cleaner they sell at the hobby stores

I wouldn't say it works better but it works just as well and costs much less.

Well, if you like rolex, all you need is a dust thingy lol.. But nah wat i do is i just take it and put er up on my stand, and spray the whole thing with simple green and blow that off with an air compressor. But u dont have one so personally i would just spray simple green, (smellls good too!) and use a tooth brush to wipe off all the nasty crap. I

I actully leave my truck till its REALLY FULL OF CRAP buti dont clean it all the time, i used to when i first got it , now i do it like once a month!
I just cleaned it yesterday actully.. I take off the gas tank so its easier to clean under, i also wash the gas tank with water and then flip it upside down and open the lid and hang it on those hooks on my mailbox! Lol so it can dry,,

today took all the wheels off and all the wheel assembaly on all 4 tires and put bearing oil on all the bearings. i love learning how to take it apart. i also took the gas tank off i think next time i clean it I'm gonna try and take the engine out and clean all under there hope its not too hard thou dont wanna end up not being able to put it back together
