Cleaning my RC

Hey hey
I use my shower. I don't have a hose spigot or I'd use that.
The important thing is to keep your receiver dry.
I spray it down with some simple green
Hit it with a scrub brush then rinse it off in the shower
I have a waterproof receiver box but even still I try NOT to flood any electronics.
Then I use an air compressor blast the water off
Water drying on screw heads makes em rusty.
After I dry it with air I hit it with a little wd40
Makes it shiny and look like I just got it from store lol
Just make sure to keep the reciever dry
(I've ruined 3 by drowning them in a creek)
The motors don't care about how wet they get really
And most ESC are waterproof enough they won't care about a short hosing off

I use compressed air.
If it needs more, I'll wipe it down, clean parts with dish soap and water, I've even had good luck with citrus based hand cleaners.
Be sure to look after your bearings when you get your r/c wet or dirty too.

Ditto and air compressor.

Odd man out here on cleaning. Do a hasty clean dry brushing with a cheap bristle brush. Scrape out the imbedded dirt and grass, pine needles, etc. with shaped wooden dowel rod or flat wood "popsicle" sticks.

Deliberate clean with fluids only for repair or replace. Caveat being soapy water wash and air dry for the body. Followed by a thin application and dry buffing with Meguiar's PLASTX on the exposed body surface.

Running nitro, I'd use a blast of compressed air for quick clean because of the pasty oil/dirt residue prevalent with nitro. Seldom if ever use compressed air on electric.

Only time my trucks or buggies are showroom clean is right after a build or buy or when selling. Rest of the time, they're 'good nuff.'

why clean it? it's just going to get dirty again.
in all seriousness i just use a couple brushes and compressed air. knock the barnacles off, blow it off. call it good. you would be surprised how "clean" you can keep a truck doing that.

I run nitro as well, and I've found that using a spritz of denatured alcohol seems to work well at breaking down the leftover castor oil (from the exhaust) and the grit & it collects. I also put my receiver and battery pack inside of some party balloons to keep the moisture and gunk away from them. Every little bit helps.

I get into party balloons after a "spritz of alcohol" too!👍😲🤣
