Hello! I’m new here and I want to buy an RC car. What do you recommend? I was looking to get this:

Ford F150 Clipless Traxxas Slash 1/10 XL-5 USB C 58094-8

Do you know how many hours I can play with this? Should I get a 5000mAh battery or keep the 3000 one?

Welcome in @entroxx , saying "how many hours" is a overkill.
You may get 45 minutes on a good day but give or take a 1/2 hr. is the average. A lot depends on the terrain you are
running on also. Tall grass will shorten the run time up and heat up the electronics quicker.
The Slash is a good choice and there is lots of guys in here that run a slash.
It never hurts to have a second battery and the higher the mAh the longer the run time.
Always let the motor and esc cool down before running the second battery.

Thank you! You got any ideas for a cheap car though? My budget is $400 but it’s kinda expensive… Something around $200?

Honestly $200 isn't going to get you much, but a word of advice, stay away from the amazon and banggood specials.
Rarely will you find extra parts with rigs that are borderline toygrade. A rig without available parts is worthless just sitting on the bench.
A good rule of thumb is, if a large online hobby shop sells a brand, chances are it's a good one.
To name a few; Horizon Hobbies, A-main, Tower Hobbies. Just run a search and you will find plenty.

Basically what @Tunedfrog just said. Battery life depends how and where you are running the car. The 3000mah would probably last 10 to 15 minutes. The 5000 will last about 20 minutes plus, from my experience. Although depends if you are getting Nimh or lipo. Lipo is so much more superior than Nimh as they have a stable voltage throughout your bash / run session and last longer overall. When I was running Nimh I would have to get new batteries about every year but with lipos I usually get new batteries 2 or so years after getting them. (Depends how you charge them too which effects life aswell)

Cars around 200 bucks. Arrma gorgon is a pretty nice truck. Or any of the arrma 223s cars like the fury, or the mini Grom cars are good too.

I have a slash myself. It was my first Hobby grade RC. Still have it today almost 10 years later but now it's fully upgraded. I also have a rustler which is brushless converted and it's a really good truck for my backyard and jumping.

I second the Lipo's but READ UP ON LIPO'S. Mishandled and they can be dangerous.
Watch youtube videos on Lipo also is a good resource. Did I mention READ UP ON LIPO'S? ;)

I don’t know. One of my friends has an old Taxxas Slash RTR XL5 and his battery lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes or something. It got a 5000mAh battery.
He is probably using a 2s LIPO battery instead of the Nimh battery it comes with.

Anyways, so…I don’t really care that much about speed (It should get at least 30km/h tbh :( ). I want a battery that last long. Can you get the Fury to 1 hour? (I’m talking about normal speed - 10km/h around that and driving on the asphalt.

I'm not quite sure on the context of question, but buying an RC from a reputable brand/online hobby store is going to be your best bet. Buy an RC that has great parts support and you'll be, most likely, running the RC platform for years to come.

I'm sure you heard of the term, "You get what you pay for." Just keep that in mind when doing your research. A 1/10 scale 2wd SCT at a $200 budget is going to leave you with limited choices. Obviously, the composition and quality of components that make up a $200 RC platform is not going to be on par with higher tier groups of RCs.

Upgrade as you move along your RC journey.

The Slash has been around forever. It can be converted from SCT to buggy to a functioning on-road and then back again with all the parts and support thats around for it.
I don't know if there is strong aftermarket coverage for a Fury.
If not, you're stuck using Arrma parts or fabbing up your own.
Do you plan to race this on a track or is this a backyard basher???
What are your ultimate plans for this r/c?

The run time has variables including how and where you drive as well as what options you fit your r/c with.
Your best bet is to buy a high quality battery with the highest mah rating that you can fit into the battery tray.
Keep in mind, as mentioned, "high quality" and "budget friendly" are rarely the same item.
You are better off saving $ and buying a "good" quality kit than buying a piece of amaza-junk and trying to "build" it into something it can never be!
