Cleaning a nitro engine

Righty, gonna clean my engine and remove 25 years worth of old oil and nitro.

From anyone who has done this before, what is the best thing to use to clean the engine? Is water and soap fine? But removing the grease - is white spirit ok for that?

I use Simply Green to remove the grease.

Brake cleaner is tough, and leaves no residue.

Simple Green works well, too!
