Here's my Traxxas XO-1 that i converted to current V2 2022 spec with custom aftermarket electronics. Named after my all time favorite Pokegirl Serena.

Update: 7\08\2024 if haven't read my latest update on the build thread for my XO-1 Serena you may know i took out the MMX8s\1717 combo to put in the new Arrma Felony slider i bought last Wednesday at the time of posting this update. Also i wanted to try out my new car with the big Castle system before ordering it's own combo but it might a month before my new car will be up and running since it will still need rear tires and pinion gear. The reason i dismantled my XO-1 is also because it wasn't performing right and it also technically broke down another half shaft got bent and another front bulkhead broke from a crash into my step brothers car last Friday.

Here's what she currently looks like.

Those electronics will be going into my new Arrma Felony i will call Misty temporarily until i decide if i like how she performs mostly stock hopefully better than my XO-1.

Here's a picture of the bent half shaft and the pinion i had to cut with a death wheel on my dremel to get off from a stripped set screw.

I also damaged my motor adapter from cutting off my pinion.

I hope my 2.0mm driver will still fit otherwise i might have to buy a new motor plate for this car.

So there's all the updates to my XO-1 so far, But for now she'll be out of commission\out of order until i can get around to fix her hopefully this fall or winter.

Here's what will be coming in the future for this car.

New motor plate (To replace my damaged one)

New half shaft for the right front driveshaft i bent from the crash into a car

x2 Traxxas CVD rebuild kits (To replace the dry rotting dust boots on them)

New Arrma Safe-D5 20 tooth mod 1 pinion (To replace my old traxxas one i had to cut off)

x2 Team Associated diff fluids for front and rear diffs (500k front and 100k rear to match V2 XO-1 specs)

New GPM Aluminum bellcrank in either blue or silver

New Perfect Pass Monster 1\10 - 1\8 or Comparable Spec Servo

New Hot Racing aluminum servo horn

Another new XO-1 V2 Body (That will be painted in Spaz Stix Candy Apple Red and Silver Paint)

A new set of Powerhobby gripper front and rear tires with Chrome wheels

Another Radiolink R8FG receiver (Since i took my previous one out for my Felony)

and now for the biggest upgrade a new Castle Creations Cobra 8 ESC paired to another 1717 1,650kv sensored motor (Which is biggest reason i'm doing this refresh also since i pulled my MMX8s combo for my Felony or i might buy a stock esc and motor which is a Mamba Monster 2 and big block 1717 1,650kv combo for this car)

But this refresh will take awhile since i want to take a break from my XO-1 and enjoy my new Arrma Felony it will also take awhile to come up with the funds for another huge refresh for this car. Bye everyone for now make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments here or in my XO-1 build thread.

The item CJ's Traxxas XO-1 Build has been updated:

(Major Update! 7\11\2024, Ever since i bought my new Arrma Felony which will be taking the Serena nameplate and all of this cars electronics next month. This XO-1 will downgraded to a HW Max 6 G1\4985 combo and i will try and make this car perform the way it needs to by making major changes coming up later this year and early next year. also new updated pictures will come soon) So stay tuned on this build and my new builds coming up.

How's it going? It's been awhile since the last update on this project but this build took a bad turn now that i pulled the Hobbywing combo and had problems with a couple of driveshaft screw pins i broke the tip off my driver into one of them and stripped the head of another one. So at this point i've been thinking about either fully rebuilding mine back into a mostly stock XO-1 or just getting a new V2 RTR which i have wanted to do since they first came out back in July 2022. So i need some input on where to go forward with this project or scrap this project and do fresh start with an all new XO-1.

How's it going everyone? This is an update to my XO-1 project after a long hiatus and making a decision to keep this car or get a new V2. Recently i finally brought myself to keep and fix this old project ever since it came crashing down a few months ago after i got my Felony and started losing hope in this platform. But now i have a direction and plan for this car to make it more durable and more enjoyable to drive since it was a handful to drive and fragile when it came durability unlike my Arrma Felony. But now i have regained hope in this platform and found some parts online that might help in both durability as well as make it more fun and easier to drive.

Starting this month i bought new Cobra Racing front and rear aluminum cased diffs, a GPM aluminum bellcrank and a new V2 Receiver box and next month will be buying a new Spektrum SR6200a AVC receiver to pair to my new DX6C and a few parts to repair the driveshafts as well as a new front bulkhead, suspension pins and new front outer wheel bearings.

Here's the car put back together, Still looks the same outside but has new parts inside.

Also still the same Max 6 G1 1,650kv combo which might be staying long term but you might be able to tell the new bellcranks as well as the new receiver box. If some of you remember i had to drill holes in the old one for my old RC8X before i switched radios from Radiolink to Spektrum so i knew i wanted a new receiver box. And there's plenty more to come next year with this car or my many other cars and many other RC and non RC related things in my life.

I agree, But she's still not ready to be driven again i'm still waiting to buy the rest of the parts, a Spektrum receiver and diff fluids. I plan to go with 500k front and 200k rear which is similar to the diff fluids the new V2 XO-1's run for my new cobra racing diffs. I also have go back through and loctite a few things on the car but i'll do after it's fixed for real.
