Thanks so much, She's still a work in progress i kinda just threw her together with what i bought this month plus what i already had from my other vehicles. The motor i have in her i think is on it's last leg it's starting to overheat and it's not as powerful as a stock combo although it's a 3,200kv running a 19 tooth on 3s instead of the stock 3,900kv running a 20 tooth on 3s. On the other hand the Max 10 SCT esc runs perfect and cool but someday i plan to swap in a Max 10 G2 140a 4,000kv combo after that she should be a screamer.Nice clean build.
Everything seemed fine with my spur and pinion but the problem i'm having is the rear diff is binding and grinding. I worry i may have to go to metal diffs if i have to i will get either the metal diff boost box from Arrma intended for the 4x2 Boost trucks which from my knowledge are similar diffs that come in the newer 4s Arrma trucks like the 4s Mojave and the V2 Kraton and Outcast 4s'. I now tore down my Vendetta took out the Max 10 SCT combo since the motor is getting old and it's starting to overheat on 3s with a 19t pinion in 70 - 80 F weather and i also want to swap in a Spektrum DX6C radio soon to replace the Radiolink i had in there before. I'm now not sure if i really want to do a Max 10 G2 140a\4,000kv combo or do a Spektrum Firma 120A V2 esc with a Stock 3,900kv motor.Lol! I had a "diff" noise recently that turned out to be a funky spur gear.
I had similar chaos on my bench.
Fun build! Can't wait to hear about the 4000kv too!
Arrma does make a Metal diff boost box it's part #ara210007 here on Amain https://www.amainhobbies.com/arrma-metal-differential-boost-box-ara210007/p1491069I don't see an actual kit but Jenny's R/C has the metal diffs and a center section from 4s cars. They were a bit cheaper than Arrma's pricing too.
I have a stock 3s Granite that I'll likely be building out the same way as you are.
I have a 130a Spektrum and a 3800kv in a 1/10 4x4 that has been pretty good so far.
I also picked up a 3900kv from a Vendetta to put in my Gorgon.
I am still collecting parts for the conversion. You'll have this finished before I can give you a review on the set up.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone complain or say it was slow at all so I bet it would be a solid choice.
I don't have any Hobbywing gear to compare it with.
I know the Granite is a much different kit than a Vendetta but I still want to know what you pick and how it goes.
That's Interesting, But i just want the front and rear diffs for my Vendetta i'm not really interested in putting the 4s center diff in my car the slipper clutch does just fine for my driving and the Vendetta is an on road car it doesn't really need a center diff.https://jennysrc.com/collections/kr...al-gear-f-r-transmission-module-set-ara4408v2
These don't have the diff housing but they are WAY cheaper and in stock.
Maybe there is more to the boost box conversion?
I saw there are other boost box parts avail too, like the arms and center diff.
Jenny's only has the parts so no "kits"...

...but is there more to a "boost box" than just a diff in a box?
It looks like almost all the parts I'd like to "upgrade" with from Arrma are 4s "stock" parts.
I had to double read the fitment on the front and rear diffs pack for a 2wd truck! Lol!
I think the 3s and 4s diff holders are the same but the cups are different. I did find the complete 4s diffs on eBay straight from a 4s Kraton\Outcast\Mojave for under or around $100. And the Arrma diff boost box set is around is $100 on Amain and Horizon Hobby's site.Would the 1st link I posted fit your car or are they different diffs? And if so whats the diff? Lol!
Are the 4s diff housings stronger/better than the 3s parts?
I looked at the Bronco it's cool although i really want the Mercedes 6x6 but there now becoming hard to find and both Traxxas' official store and Amain are either out of stock or are on back order. But i really think the Bronco might be a better option to start out with if i can't get the 6x6 Mercedes. For your first crawler, from the choices above, I would go with the Bronco, to see if you actually enjoy it, before spending big money on the SCX6 Honcho.
I love my Honcho, and out of what you listed it would be my first choice, but that's because I have several crawlers and already know I enjoy them.
