just a couple of pics I took today. For me, offroad is harder than onroad when it comes to taking pics.

the canon Digital Rebel XT is pretty awesome. A fairly decent price. Of course, Forbidden's 20d is simply the best. The xt is a good compromise, doesn't feel as solid as the 20d, but is quite a bit less expensive. My dad has the first edition Digital Rebel, and it's pretty darn amazing at catching action. I took this pic just messing around with it, to see how good it was at capturing fast motion. Taken at a distance of 3 feet at 1/1000 of a sec.

Thanks. I agree the Canon Digital Rebel is a good camera to take RC pics. Thats the camera I started out with before getting the Canon 20D. Nice pic by the way! :)

The most important thing is the lens. For outdoor shooting I would highly suggest the Canon 20-700 F4L (around $550). For indoor shooting I would suggest either the 50mm 1.8 (around $80) or the 85mm 1.8 (around $350). Beware, both of the lenses I suggest for indoor are "prime" lenses...meaning they don't zoom.

BTW, the 2 offroad pics I took were taken at http://www.c-n-craceway.com in Woodland, Washington.

I think you mean 70-200... LOL I wish there was a 20-700 for $550!

I love my rebel xt. my friend has a 20D and I see no huge advantage of the 20D over the rebel xt aside from the 2.8fps vs 5fps shooting difference.

btw, awesome off-road shots you got there, I like them even more than your onroad ones.

I just went from the digital rebel to the 30D, the differences are huge, just depends on how you shoot and use the camera.

oh I definetely agree that it's all about how you use the camera. after years of using a regular piece of crap point and shoot for action photography, I still kind of use my rebel the same way, though my pictures look 10x better because of the enhanced resolution, high-iso abilities, etc. I don't feel at all like I want to upgrade bodies, my rebel does everything I want perfectly well, I prefer to upgrade to better glass where the results are IMO slightly more drastic and visible.
