OOPS! sorry about that! dunno how i did that!

Hi!

You bet i will!

For now let me tell you something, the truck is still going strong and solid because i let my 6 years old son drive the beast at the primary school turf (4 or 5 acres)
He was going full throtle than decide to turn right downhill :surrender it sure make 10 or more turnhover to finaly stop on top.
After we get to the truck and get a look for any damage we see that everything good. (only some dirt here and there)
Give it 2 pull and still going like a charm

JF

Sorry i forgot!

It cost me $527.00 U.S. shipping and taxes included to my door here in Quebec, Canada

HPI owns the rights to a 1/5 scale gasser monster truck. The video of it is insane. It looks like a Savage that's about 3 feet long and the size of a fifth scale, and it's 4WD. When it goes into production, I will be the first one on the waiting list.

What is it called? I really want to look into this one!

from what it sounds like it will take almost anything you do to it huh?

I think that's the FS racing King Kong 1/5 scale truck, am I wrong?

I saw them on eBay for $699 from Australia plus $199 to mail to Canada, wow!
I was at the hobby store in my neighborhood, they had a CEN racing 1/5 scale that I could have taken home right then for $650 or so. The big difference is it ran on glow fuel I do believe.

I think this is the video for the King Kong, lets see what you fellows think (I personally think it is not very impressive):

Actually, there is something impressive: when they do the slow-mo donuts you can see the back outside wheel bent right over, and it did NOT break off, that I found just staggering. Though in one donut you can clearly see something go flying off. And the wheel did NOT break off. Wow.

Actually, with the poor suspension, slow speed, and lack of distinguishing scale on the video, this thing looks like a much smaller model and not very fun at all.

I would never by a 5th scale that ran on glow fuel, the whole reason that I like large scale so much is because of the gasser engines. I'm sure the glow fuel engine would have a lot more headaches. Once you run gas, you won't care to run anything else. I went from having only nitro, to getting a gasser and realizing what a headache the nitro was, and now I run everything BUT nitro.

no the rights HPI Bought were from a Tiwanese company. the Track was called the Gladiator. and yes, it was pretty much a Overgrown savage, but was done RIGHT!!!!

i hope HPI brings this to market, but i would expect no less than a 1500.00 tag on it and likely more if its at all close to how the orig company built the Gladiator.

Hi everyone!

Just to keep you updated on my 1/5 scale truck i bought on eBay...
After 15 hours of running (45min. to 60min. run) The truck still going strong, i put some locktight on the muffler bolts.
The truck is heavy and yes, this is not as quick and nervous as nitro but it is less tunning and easier to start. In fact it start easy every time.
Jumping is great fun (4 to 5 feet) but i will need to upgrade my shocks if i want to go with more serious air.
The roll cage is also solid after more than 20 roll over and still counting (asphalt and dirt )
As soon as i can, i will do some modifications on it like putting a new muffler i've just bought on eBay, maybe try a bigger cc motor i already have on a old chainsaw.
To bad it is not 4x4!!! But for around $500.00 shipping included it is a good beginner fun truck.
I found that replacement parts are kind of expensive and i will search the net to see if there is deal to make on them.

Have fun...
John
