Champion controller stance

I was talking to a friend of mine about the peculiar way that Austin Dunn holds his transmitter when competing, and he wanted to see some pictures. So I thought I would post some pics for you guys to see. It's quite an interesting stance. I don't see how he can drive like that, much less win a national championship and become on of the best drivers known to rock crawling. But Austin is one hell of a driver no matter how he holds his controller, and his focus and dedication to the sport is AMAZING. At the comps that are on video, when lots of the other guys are laughing and joking and goofing around, Austin is in the zone focusing on the course and what lines he's going to run. When he's running the course, it almost feels like hes warped his mind to the inside of the crawler from the drivers seat because he's so focused. IMO, he's one of the best there is.

Anyone else on here drive like that?

He's left handed. You see that a lot with southpaws that don't run reversible transmitters. My next door neighbor drives his TMaxx like that as well.

Yeap thats exactly what he is. I can understand. I'm right handed, and when I decided to start playing hockey, I went to Target and bought the best hockey stick they had (which of course was cheap crap lol, just better crap than the other crap). I didn't even know they had right and left handed sticks until I had already played a few times. I was playing with a left handed stick, and didn't realize it, but thats how I learned to hold my hockey stick. Once I realized it, I bought a right handed stick. Ended up playing two periods with it and giving it away. From then on I used a left handed stick and it just felt natural, and I even got to be quite good that way. It was a huge advantage because there aren't a lot of lefthanded players, and the position that I played really was set up better for lefties. So that's the way I learned to play, and thats what feels natural to this day, even though I still play golf, baseball, everything else right handed.

actually I've tried it several times but can't get the hang of it, its like using a nintendo controller upside down lol. or jerkin your gerkin left handed lol.

Ha I see I'm not the only one that calls it a gerkin. A friend of mine was right handed and lost all his fingers on his right hand when he was putting the chain on a 4 wheeler and it dropped out of gear. People used to ask him how he did it with his left hand, and he said he couldn't, but he was REALLY good with his toes lmao
