It depends on the gearing. If you are upgrading from a brushed Slash 4x4, then I suppose the stock gearing would work (11/54 pinion/spur, 12/47 diff).
However, I would not recommend it for 3s overall. I ran the same combo in my Slash 4x4 on 2s (12/54 pinion/spur, 13/37 diff), and it was getting a little warmer than I'd like it to. Here's a video of it running if that helps:
I currently have the Castle 3200kv system and it runs much cooler and has more punch to it (still 12/54 gearing, but definitely can go higher). Here's a video of that if it helps:
With the 3200kv motor, I've never had any issues with the drivetrain (stock gears and driveshafts), but I rarely jump it, and I don't really push the throttle a lot.
