CASTLE 1515-2200Kv MOTOR FAN OR NOT??

My build Put 1515 2200kv motor on a E revo 2.0 tranns. Running gears
18-22 pionon
46-54 spur
Not sure the best set up will be yet about to find out tomorrow/ Sunday weather permits. Running to HT to get metal spur. Got to get rid of plastic. So should I just pick up the double castle fan while there just in case?? Worst case can always throw on the X8s. Or you don't think the motor will get to hot

Its always a good idea to have a fan but if you gear it right you dont have to.

That's what I'm thinking. But like you said it's nice just incase. Worst case I pull the velineon off the X8s and put on the build and the castle on the X8s rite ??

What he said. A heatsink wont be a bad idea if you can run air to it. Air as in outside car air and not fan.

Hell with it. fan it is. doesn't take much for me to buy RC parts just add it to the list LOL my mortgage is paid for the month LOL

fan it . if its getting warm 145+ fan can't hurt.. I dont have that short of that castle.. mine is 3200 kv on 4 cell.. mine never get anything over 135... and I'm at near 80% throttle thru entire 6200mah...that's what i put back in a 8000

Fanning it like you said it can't hurt it rite. Better to be sorry then fried and butthurt LOL I'm not sure yet with Temps. Every where I read saying 18/46 -24/64 gearing so we will see Rpm esc cage for the castle figure why not can't hurt but got to go back in morning wasn't waiting for them to dig threw in shipment LOL

I like the NHX one better. Uses alloy framed fans that take abuse much better than plastic ones.

I have the 1515/MMX in my maxx4s. Geared for the speed I want on 4S, the motor overheats, even with fans. Guessing it's pulling too many amps. Got some 6S packs coming soon... will have to gear it back down to get similar speeds, but will hopefully run cooler.

I have the powerhobby dual cooler on my e-revo 2.0 (blx 4074 2050kv), stampede 4x4 (blx 4074 2050kv) and outcast 6S (hobbystar 4092 1650kv). I had to modify the 30mm alloy framed fans to fit on them all though. Wish I had found the NHX cooler a long time ago. Less work and better fans to start with vs having to buy it, then also buy the fans.
