I've been working on my two gas RCs, the baja and FG truck, which both have been laying in pieces for over a year. I'm glad I got them to work, their braapp does it all for me, and they deliver it reliably (when assembled🙂).
However, how do you guys store them? They stink a lot worse than nitro and keep stinking for days after running. The entire house is smelling like a gas station and my parents are not loving it.

When I had my Baja 5B, I'd run it completely out of gas. Then plug the exhaust, and cover the air filter with a plastic zip-loc that I'd rubber band down tight around it. Never had any issues when I lived in an apartment.

I hear that the cans of "small engine" fuel from the hardware store tend to have less odor than pump gas, particularly a type called "Alkylate fuel" - I've never run them myself but it's something I've been thinking about too, one of the reasons I don't have a gasser yet.

I hope you aren't storing the fuel cans indoors? Fuel cans are usually vented (for good reason), and you'll likely never get rid of the smell if you're storing fuel indoors. I always kept mine outdoors on the front porch.

I store the fuel outside, and usually I would've done the same with my cars, but here it's still freezing over night...
I'm gonna say gas with ethanol smells worse tgen ethonol free gas. Also some oils smell worst then others.

The fuel is ethanol free and I use motul 800 for oil. Some time ago I searched the whole Netherlands for ethanol free fuel, and I finally found an oldtimer gas station LOL. Is this what you mean? Does it have oil mixed in already?
