OH MY GOD!!! I can not believe that some F'n tree hugging, animal loveing hippies are making a deal out of this... WHO THE F CARES!!! they even said they were a nuicence (sp?)... i could really go off about this but there are young minds here.

What has our society come to? They ought to give that guy a pat on the back and tell him to hit more of them next time. There are too many of those "rats with wings" (I know its a shameless quote from Finding Nemo, but it is sooooo true.). I think I'll see if I can get em one by one with the losi. I know every winter we get a pretty big flock that likes to fly in and hang out out the local big lots

They're right... he shouldnt have run them down. He should have gotten out with a gun and got more of them.

LMAO! I got suspended for 2 weeks in 5th grade because we were on a field trip to Ocean Beach in S.F. and and me and some unnammed accomplises fed some alkasezlser to the seaguls. It is tru what they say, it does kill them LOL>

You know, it's just possible that the guy is a shop owner.

We had a local antique shop/craft mall here and the pigeons were so bad that no one would come in. You couldn't walk in the door without getting bombed. Not to mention walking through 2 inches of crap every morning.

Maybe they were actually costing this guy his business.. Who knows...Phsyciatric counseling for hunting birds in a unque way hrmm..

I suppose we should send the guy who owns the chicken lot to prsion for killing 10,000 chickens anually just so people can eat. Maybe he enjoys it too much? Murderous bastards Phhhht

Thats to bad,
I enjoyed their songs in the mid 80s.
Makes you wonder what they did with their money. Its a shame for them to be so far away from home and hurting for food. I'm sure eating tuna fish and chicken bones in a parking lot wasn't fun for them. From Stars to parking lot putty.

Maybe this guy did the right thing.
They are no longer in misery, or NJ aren't they the same.

I'm going to go find their album and listen to "I Ran" as a tribute.
RIP

I donno if that's as bad as me running out and downloading it quick for a listenin... Reminds me of Levi's jackets and Regan:

I miss the days of LP's, there was just something about vinyl...

there was a friend of mine that who got by the cops exploding seagulls with ajax and bread.... fiddlesticks.... thats one thing I'd hate to get jailed for

Imagine meeting the prison bully with that on your rap sheet ;)

If you really think about it, our society is so cruel to animals in everyday life. You know how many cows, chickens and fish are killed EVERYDAY so you can eat them?

I see nothing wrong with killing animals if they're over populated. I know i'd love to kill a few geese if it were legal. Their population is rediculous.

very true. Over here one of the local communities passed a law allowing bow hunting of deer within city limits to those who have 'x' amount of land. But fish farming and matters such as this are far from what is exhibited here. This is simply a malacious and undeniably ignorant act of cruelty.

The point of killing for food has been brought up a couple times here and I have to ask... what does that have to do with this matter? Those birds aren't being eaten. They're being left for dead in a parking lot. Society farms fish and kills fish because they feed our families.. Society raises and kills cattle because they also feed out families. let's stop hiding behind the non-questionable sacrifices just so we can feel ok about killing a few seagulls for no reason other than pesonal satisfaction. Yes, they can be a pain I agree, but so can our co-workers and neighbors. Maybe we should just mow them down too?????

you're lucky HB, mine were too smart. I was getting ready for a freind's wedding in Newport Beach years ago when I went out on the hotel balcony. A herd of seagulls flew up to me and one poop on my suit. I spent the next hour trying to get one to eat an alca seltzer. I would throw up bread and crackers to get them used to catching things, but they never swallowed the alcaseltzer. I even put peanut butter on them. Oh well, thats why I have a $600 Beeman air rifle. Too bad there aren't any seagulls in AZ!

Lighten up Lessen, there are plenty more. I think of them as a renewable resource, like pigens, rats, whatever. Sure killing a few wont change anything, but it sure is fun - you should try it some time!

most definately!

I've hunted deer, elk, bear, duck, grouse, pheasent, bobcat, and many more... wouldnt have it any other way. its just teh food chain man. and as far as seagulls go... skyrats... trust me... I'm from the washington state coast.. i know a thing or two about seagulls... the more dead the marrier.

and the alca-selzer thing... it didnt work for me either scott... however putting hyperdermic needles meant to be used on cows insie of mCDonalds french fries seems to do the trick... lol... oh the good old days.
