Maxx~ I just look at the pics, Looks good. I would suggest getting th amp off the box though. Just make a amp rack and set it on there. its bad to have them mounted on the box because the amp shakes, and with the amp on the box, it could shake the internals of the amp up, and also can cause interfirance (Sp?) with the subs and the amp. Other than that looks good.
Also I was gonna ask ya if your cars a hatch? If so thats a primo car for a system. If it is, keep the subs aimed Up, if not aim them back towards the very end of the car.. Good luck man, and keep us posted.

Dynamat ... yes it does work. Not 100% but accousticaly, it works very well. Some installers use the Rubber underlayment for roofing instead, just to save money.

lol nice, never read that before.

i got a question about the sound proofing stuff that u can put under the carpet and in the door panels, does that stuff really work to keep the sound in ur car and the outside noise out of ur car? cuz the stuff is like $100.

it works good, but you wont need as much as you might think. A small strip will damper a big area alot more than people give it credit for. I'm not sure if your going for competition, but if ya are, Id just leave it without that, cuz that actually takes away DB's, but if its your daily driver, a rattly trunk gets annoying. So Id just get the $30 dynomat kit and just do the strips. Thats what I have done in some of mine and its always worked. Behind the licence plate is a must! (As I'm sure ya know its rattlin')

4u2nv- yea thanks, it is a hatch. originally the sub was pointed towards the back with the car, but i dropped the back seat, and took the plastic divider out off the hatch, a fancy piece so u can't see in the back of the hatch. the side of the box that the sub's are mounted on are at a angle, about a 75-80 degree angle. I find this to work the best, i can feel the thump compared to before when my hatch lid rattled from the thump.

I gotta find something to put around my wheel wells, becaue i can hear water and dirt and salt hittin up in the wheel wells, and so i have to turn my system up more to dround that noise out. Even with the back seats up and the divider in place, i can still hear the noise.. so annoying.

I was talking about what you were going to power your front speakers with, amp or HU. If just the HU,DONT get seperates. You wont be able to put enough RMS to them,no matter what the HU is rated at.

I agree with everything that 4u2nv has said. If you ever move to cali you have a job! the only thing I dont recomend is to ground the amp and headunit at the same source. In most instance the head unit is allways to far away deafeting the porpouse of a short ground. Most people use the factory ground thats comes off the factory radio harness. Sometimes it is fine sometimes it not. That ground wire is shared by other acc. ie- ac/heater blower, cig liter, dimmer lights, some computer parts. It is allways best to ground the head unit to something close to the firewall or dash surport. Never just use the ant for ground, yes the ant will pull ground. Ie- dont hook the black wire off the radio harness and plug in the ant, the unit will operate, pull out it will go off. That is a good way to blow out a mosfet! I hope they used a harness to put your radio in. Cutting off they factory harness voids most warranties. and in some cases messes with other functions in the car. i.e 99 honda civic- cut off the harness and the factory keyless entre and dome light doesn't work! Can you tell me how they hooked up your speakers to your amp.

They used a brand new harness when hooking up my head unit. The factory speakers are still hooked up to the factory amp, i have to go back and have them by-pass the factory amp, and have them install my new Pioneer 6 1/2" front speakers and Pioneer 6 X 9" rear speakers.
