Can I spray paint rims????

If so what type of paint is best. I have a pair of rims I took the chrome off of and I now want to color them black.

Dye?
Regular spray paint?
Automotive paint?

Any ideas appreciated.

You can but they chip off too much....Can't you dye them>???

Krylon makes a plastic paint. If you can't dye them I would try the krylon stuff.

Soak them with oven cleaner (like Easy-Off) to take all the remaining chrome off. Then clean them with denatured alcohol and then you can dye them with Rit dye.

Well they are nylon ....proline beadlocks........so I am not sure if I can dye them...could just be my ignorance....but I thought to dye good they had to start out dyeable....and white....these ared kinda cream colored.....

Yes, the fabric dye stuff. The longer you let them soak, the darker it'll be.

Just get a container large enough to allow you to completely submerge the rims. Pour enough boiling water to completely cover them, add the dye, mix it around then put your rims in there.

Note, it may take a time or two with the oven cleaner to get all the chrome off, but it does work!

Yes I have used it (easy off) get all of the chrome off.....I think I got that from you from some other newb post

SO right now I am soaking the ends in acetone to remove the last bits deep in the beads. Then I will clean up with denatured and send the wife to the fabric store for the dye. I think I have 5 gallon pickle tub around here I can saok them in.

After they are dyed........
