A while ago I wanted to race Nitro Truggy's (Come on I mean look at them). But being too young to get a job I could not afford it. Now that I can I really want to get involved but I am still hesitant. I have used countless electric r/c's but nothing close to race grade. So some info is what I need, the best Truggy's (My budget is AU$400-450 and can stretch to AU$520 if it's got a transmitter as well. I don't mind kit or RTR but if it is kit it must have everything necessary, no extra purchases). It must look semi descent, like a Kyosho St-r Inferno or similar. Easy to build (while still posing a challenge) and easy to maintain. Most importantly- It MUST be readily available in Australia or at least be importable. The closer to Tassie the better. Please do not veer from Nitro Truggy's as that is the only class I am interested in, no brushless electric or Gas. Thanks!

Well, considering I Don't live in Aussie I have no idea what is available. So how about giving us a little info on what IS there. What brands do you have? Help us help you

Ok thanks. As far as I know I can get every major brand (HPI, Kyosho, etc.) Along with any well selling R/C's. So if it's in America chances are that I can get it. Seeing as the American Dollar is close to he Aussie Dollar, My budget shouldn't be thrown out either. Hope that helps.

Oh and I forgot to say that I know a lot of fairly good import sites.

I'm going to get an hpi mt2 G3.0.it is a good car I've heard and hpi is a well known brand. It costs around $340 us dollars. You will have to buy the glowplug ignitor, fuel, etc. separate though.

definetly a cool looking rig!! and I have heard they are pretty tough and fast out of the box!!! I would honestly say to go onto the major company sites and read about each of their truggy's and look at each one till you see "The One"

do they have a 1/10 scale class at your track? mine does not so i had to get rid of mine. i asked because you said you were wanting to race. to be honest your not going to get a 1/8 truggy with your budget. maybe shop around for a deal on a used one.?

the difference's

what are the difference's between truck , buggy ,and truggy? I know dum ? but not really i've allways had trucks.

The truggy is the best of both worlds when it comes to buggy/MTs. It has a center diff, 4 wheel drive and more nimble than a monster truck. They typically are 1/8 scale and use standard sized MT tires for the most part. They are wider than a buggy, normally a bit heavier and stronger built. If you hit up google you can find pictures of both and see they are pretty simular. I have both....I am a basher rather than racer so mine are not the newest coolest kid on the block....but damn fun.

Thanks Guy's. Hope its not too much trouble to ask what all the specs mean. E.g. the table that is listed with truggies on manufacturers sites. Thanks!

Have a look at the thunder tiger st1 rtr it costs around 450 there's a pro kit so plenty of upgrades and parts are easy to get I live in Sydney and most of my lhs stock or will order parts for you
