I have an opportunity to buy a Losi DBXL with lots of hop up parts and a fresh 2 stroke motor at a great price. Car looks amazing! Very well cared for. I didn't have my phone on me when I looked at it, otherwise I'd provide pics.

I've never played with one and know nothing about them. The only thing I've owned outside of electrics was a Tmaxx and it was nitro. To each their own but I'm not a fan of nitro engines. 2 stroke I Don't mind.

My question, is the DBXL a basher? Will it hold up to some aggressive play? I don't mean Kevin Talbot at the skate park aggressive, but I don't baby my stuff. I don't want to go down this road if it won't hold up. I was hoping to hear from some guys that actually have one and hear about your experiences.

The answer is yes. I bash this more than anything I have. But you will need a few things. Chassis braces front and rear. And a new set of wheels. I cracked mine day one. Backflips? Nope. Launched it off a sledding hill? Yup. And it moves garbage cans. Minor launch. I’ve had it 15 feet up.

The sheet size and power of it is enough to make you say holy crap. I have cartwheeled it. Nose dove it. Rolled it. You can never bash a rig without breaking it. But it’s so big it’s easy to fix. Parts are expensive. Just bought these because I snapped the front cv axel being on the gas hitting the ground hard.

From what I've heard, the DBXL gasser is a giant turd unless it has a lot of upgrades. So if it comes with all the durability upgrades, then it should be worth it. There is a lot of info on it on largescaleforums.com

There was a lot of aluminum bracing on the chassis but that's about all I noticed. I'll get some pictures sometime tomorrow. I'm just trying to decide if this platform suits me.

Thanks for the info. I'll definately check out that forum.

I finally pulled the trigger today and I'm super excited! I paid for it but I won't actually pick it up till Monday but I couldn't wait to share the news. I haven't had a gas car (nitro Tmaxx) in almost 20 years. I got to rip it around the parking lot at work today and it sure made me giggle. I'll post pics when I get home Monday.

I’m late to this party , but I can tell you I launch mine like a missle all the time , as for the gas version , it needs a engine upgrade for sure , mine is castle xl2 powered and my friends is the stock gasser , again put a Taylor 35 in it and it will be your favorite rc , thicken your shock oil put heavy springs in the back and your done , since it’s got all the other stuff $700 is a good deal but get the engine !!

I've ran several tanks through it and it seems to have plenty of power. Even with the small tires that came on it, top end is pretty good. The last outing I snapped a front drive shaft. Got the replacement but haven't installed yet. Weather has turned for the worse so not much outdoor play right now. Ill look into the Taylor engine you mentioned.

Can we get some pics?

There you go @Lukedavis. I put up pics when I got it but I think its on a different thread.

Don't laugh at my little tires, lol. Its still as it was when I bought it. The engine was brand new when I got it. So far, I really like the 2 stroke.

I think those size tires look great on it! I would just want more offset, and different color rims to match the body. Awesome score!
Thanks. The body is pretty rough but the cage is good. I intend to do the body and tires/wheels before spring. I just have too many projects.
