if I see latest results all buggys going better these days seem to have ball steering systems
like the mbx5, crono rs03, cl-1 gs, TTR s3

xb8 and kyosho seeming not to perform as easily for the commun driver

can't say that Kyosho can't win with their buggies!!! How many championships do they have? I think it is luck and skill as much as the buggies. I personally like PBS, but that is for durability mostly.

Kysho not performing??? Have you seen Tebo's results? He has won most of the major races with a 777. It all comes down to prefrence.

I'm not a pillow ball fan. C hubs are nice cause you can just go, you don't have to constantly check your balls and what not.

Ya, w/ the balls, you gotta constantly examine them for abnormalities... LOL

anyway, I run the c-hub because it's a little more responsive then PBS....or so I've been told...

c-hub jammin x1cr is running fine to

it is probably just a matter of all tuning items falling together to have a stabile roadholding
I like a buggy with very crisp steering AND the rear very forgiving, following no matter what, without being ever loose
which is hard to get

but I definitely prefer pillow ballsteering

I got a mayhem and I had second thoughts about the balls issues
but it's the contrary, I don't have to do hardly any maintenace, look into them or replace parts at all !
I like the looks of the cars with ball steerings to

ball steering is tougher
C-Hubs are more responsive....
that's generally the rule of thumb I see...
I like the XB8 setup but I wouldn't get a K car unless I never hit any boards....the Kyosho seems to be a very precise car that doesn't like abuse.....

I am not discrediting Eric, but I drove a kyosho for 11 months and only broke 1 front A arm with my kyosho. The K car, mugne and xray are all tanks in my opinion. Maintinance may be a bit different in each car and normal wear and tear might effect each of em different, but all in all they are all 3 very tuff.

Ya, I have never driven a K car before either, but from what I've seen, they are very tough, the guys over at trilordy have one, and they definately push it to the limit...

(Just saying from what I've seen, so plaid may be right because I have never owned one)

just about every buggy on the market is pretty tough. all have certain weakpoints. xray's break front upper turnbuckles, mugens break shock shafts, ofnas bend shock shafts, storms tear out arm mounting blocks, kyoshos break arms (however they recently released beefier ones).

as for steering, its something you have to drive to determine what you like. both C-hub and PBS can be made to turn plenty sharp and tight, but they have different feels when driving. also just an fyi, the Crono that was mentioned, unless recently redesigned, doesn't have either type of steering. they run whats called a Kingpin steering. most people consider it a lesser quality design though the europeans tend to like it. kingpin can also be found on some Hong Nor manufactured Ofna buggies.

guy's I'm definately not against the K car....I do think it's great car....for more advanced racers.....it's probably the most responsive car I ever tried, but I've seen too many little track jits buy it cause it's the winning car and think it's gonna be easy to setup and drive.....I know the damage I've seen done to them is 90% driver error but that's how someone asking about, "what buggy should I get?", is gonna drive like.....and I'm sure brandon fits in the more advanced level driver category.......I have to agree w/ Corrado's Last statement on deciding what buggy to get......

C-Hub set up is on the car now. New chassis braces front/rear, carbon top plate, XTM cooling head, and 5-7-2(F-C-R) in the diffs now. I was running the incorrect fluid before...so the buggy should drive abit easier now and will turn ALOT better with the C-Hub up front. I didnt like the PBS set up and drove a buddies with C-Hub and it steered alot better...hence the switch.
