How do you know when a electric motor has gone south. My reedy on my rc18 is geting really loud and I also think the batteries are going out. But if the motor get noisy then it should be the brushes or something correct.

Generally, it'll be extremely slow, really poor run times, and it'll run hotter than a pistol.
 
That would be the exact signs. I guess ill have to start saving for a lipo and brushless set up.

There are lots of good brushless combos that work with the RC18 cars. I've been using a Mamba 6800 kV combo in my 18t.
 
Thats the one I'm thinking about Hamz. I want the 8000 but I'm afraid it will be too fast. I think theres the 7200 I might look into that for a medium between the two. Lipos are what scare me, whats a good price and can i get pre-made packs with enough punch. Main thing is price.
