Well my son is back in school and I'm not traveling for work, so there's extra time in the day to tinker with the XRT!

I already upgraded to the Max5 esc and have Hyperflow fans on the stock motor. Looking for suggestions on a drop in upgrade for the stock XRT motor.

Also curious if there's any other upgrades I should consider doing while I have the motor out anyway?

As always, thanks for the recommendations.

Not really an upgraded “drop in motor” if you wanna upgrade your motor you are gonna have to upgrade the motor mount as well. Just the name of the game. M2C is very good. I’m running a max5 1100kv combo in my XRT.

Motor mounts aren't a big deal, I just don't want to have to worry about relocating the ESC to accommodate some big can.

So this Ezrun would be an option:

Are these the M2C mounts you're referring to?

Most upgraded motors are gonna be bigger than stock. Relocating your esc is the easy part.

That motor will not fit on a stock motor mount, 650kv or 1100kv. 1100kv would probably be your best bet unless you plan on running 12s then go 650kv.

Yes that is the motor mount I am speaking of.

Gotcha. Will look at that 1100kv and M2C mounts then.

Looks like you're also running hyper fans, they fit the 1100 ok?

...and maybe I'll look at the M2C chassis brace while I'm browsing their site lol

@AjDale - What gearing are you running with the 1100kv? I've got numerous extra spurs and minions in my box but want to make sure I'm starting out with a reasonable ratio.

Also, are there any other upgrades you'd recommend when going with this new motor? I did order the M2C chassis brace, so that should firm up the flex.

Thanks for the advice!

The hyper flow fans fit excellent! Just make sure you order the right mount as there’s a lot to choose from.

The m2c chassis brace is definitely worth it! I was cheap with mine and went ADU route.

I’m running 24 tooth pinion and 35 tooth spur 1.5mod gears. I’d say start 20/35 and see how it feels.

Besides a motor mount and chassis brace I’d say you’re about set! If you really wanted the extra support on your drive cups they do sell reinforcement drive up rings

Well the install begins 😀

Just took some measurements to print a spacer for the Max5 so that I can move it forward. USPS lady should be here soon with my new pinions and spurs.

Fun times ahead :)
