Decided to put this out there for anyone wanting to try this, and I learned a lot in building this monster.

The guy I spoke to at Kyosho America told me all I really needed was the Beetle body mounts to make this work (SC244), but as it turns out, that is not the case. If you want to build it the way I did, you technically need all this stuff.

The roll bar for the Beetle is longer, but for it to work with the extended Scorpion chassis, you need to bend it.

The front body pin doesn't line up with the original hole molded into the body, so I had to move it forward about 3/8" or so.

But the shocks located correctly in the body, so not sure what is different on the front end of the Turbo Scorpion vs the Beetle chassis.

Also, the transmission cover for the Turbo Scorpion is setup for the wing. I may just 3d print a cover, because you have to buy the whole transmission to get the correct cover.

But I love the look of the end results. And you can definitely notice the extended wheelbase.

Oh, you also need a set of hubs for the rear wheels. The Beetle wheels don't have hexes. Old school design.

Stand and buggy both look swell. Great project.

Trailing arm FR and RR suspension. Had not noticed that feature until looking at this latest set of images. Cool. 'AC'

Yeah, that is one of the cool features of the Scorpion chassis. The arms are all forged aluminum. And the way they are hinged makes them pretty indestructable.

Looks great man. The stand is a killer touch, I love it.

Do you have aluminum wheels for this I have some brand new ones that would look bad arse on it.
When I get home tomorrow morning I’ll dig them out in open in plastic.
I don't. The rears are 1.6. The fronts are 1.9. I tried some aluminum 1.9's and 2.2's on it, but I didn't like the bigger wheels.

I’ll check the size they are not 1.9 or 2.2 they are smaller. In the morning I’ll shoot some pics they are Baja style wheels. Perfect for the bug.

Cool beans. I'd be interested to see em.

I just open them to take pics. Back wheels you can change offset.

The slicks look good but theyd look even better on those metal wheels!

I would have to come up with a way to mount them. Those are Tamiya wheels. No hex, no pin, etc. Just 5 bolts.
