Hello,
I currently have a t-maxx which I've had for about a year and a half now and love. I have aquired a spare engine and almost an entire radio, and I'm kinda thinking about a buggy kit to slap them in. I'm just wondering if any of you know of a good buggy kit that is reasonably priced, that does not come with engine or radio. I dont want anything super high-end because i dont have the $$$ right now. I just want something that i can have some fun with both around the front yard and bashin in the dirt. If you have any ideas for me, I would appreciate the input!! Thanks alot,
Cobra198

I would take a look at the X-Terminator Pro. It comes 80% prebuilt, which means it is all put together but doesn't have an engine, radio, or tires. It runs around 300, but is on sale right now for 240! That is an amazing deal for what you get, it comes with all the hop-ups you could want. A CF radio tray, Blue anadized shock towers, and many others. Deifintely worth looking into.

Fast Eddy: That buggy looks like a nice one, especially since everyone says the owner takes such good care of his stuff. I just dont think i can afford $320 right now.

AC48: Thats exactly what i have been lookin for. A kit that comes with no engine or radio! The downside is i dont think i can even afford the 240 for it right now lol. I may have to wait a while.
Does anyone know a kit similar to that one that is maybe a bit less hopped up and a little cheaper? Cause I'm kinda tryin to go for economical here lol. If not, i guess ill just have to start savin.
THanks for the help guys,
Cobra198

Also i looked on the net for a buggy that comes 80%. The only other one that i could find is the Ofna 1/8 Ultra MBX R2 Buggy 80%. This is $190. Is the X- terminator worth the extra 50 bucks, or is this ofna just as good? Any input is appreciated. Thanks again

Don't know much about the Ofna, but for 240$ for that X-Terminator is an amazing deal. I have the regualr X-Tetrminator and it was a great beginner basher buggy, I have since upgraded to a Kyosho Inferno MP7.5, and I would be willing to sell my stock X-Terminator as a roller for 125$.

PM me for details and pics if interested.

Thats as low as they come from what i have seen. You may want to save up for a buggy(they are exspensive) or look at the pro 1/10th stadium trucks which are not as exspensive.

Just my advice.

If you are looking for a great, STRONG buggy, the X-terminator pro is the buggy to get! I havent even broken a part YET!!!!!! i love this buggy to death but i sure don't baby it. I HIGHLY recommend this car. hmmmm. another good choice i would say if you're looking for inexpensive would be the Hot Bodies Lightning PRO... my brother has the rr version and it is a great buggy for the price.

A radio is a radio, but what spare engine do you have? A TRX 2.5, or other .15 won't work for an 1/8 scale buggy. You have to have a .21 If it is a .15 you have you may want to look into a stadium truck, or 1/10 scale buggy, but I don't know if you can buy a 1/10 buggy less the engine, and radio. Just my $0.02, and I didn't see anyone else mension it.

Good point^

I just assumed that if he wanted a 1/8th scale, so what is your extra engine cobra198?

Hmmm good point hypedonrc... You guessed right, my extra engine is a traxxas 2.5. I swapped it out of my t maxx and put in a new picco .21 I guess i never really thought it would be a problem. Why is it that it wont work, just not enough power?
My mind was kinda set on a 1/8 scale buggy, but i guess i could always put the p2 in the x-terminator, or go for a stadium truck.

Also psunitro: yes i have thought about going for used. I went on ebay but couldnt tell whats good and whats junk. I was actuall looking into bying AC48's xterminator as a roller. Thx for the suggestion.

the 2.5 doens't hvae enough power and torque to power a heavy 1/8 buggy. what you can do is get an x-cellerator pro kit and stick the 2.5 in there instead.

how about a plain and simple, its not a power issue. you physically can't do it, because buggys take a big block engine, and your 2.5 and your P2 are both physically too small to fit into a buggy. you could always get AC48's buggy and save up some more. you can get an ok big block engine with a pullstart for just over $100.

Dang, i just thought that the huge tires/ 8 shocks ect on the maxx would make it bout the same weight as a 1/8 scale buggy. Never new it physically wouldnt fit. I'm new to the whole buggy thing though.
So this x-cellerator is a 1/10 stadium truck? All i could locate is a 100% rtr kit. I really dont need the engine or radio. I wasn't able to find the x-cellerator pro kit, only the x-cellerator. Do you happen to have a link?
Also, do you know how it would perform versus something like a rustler?
Thanks for the help,
cobra198

Cool, thx for the links. Once i see the pics of your X-Terminator ill decide wether i want to spend the extra 130 and get a new engine. Thanks again,
