my younger brother is down for our mother's celebration of life ceremony; it was nice.
but hes down for a few more days and we were sitting at my house and i asked if he wanted to go for a walk.
much to my joy he said yes, and i grabbed some trucks!!
i brought the Trail Killer for myself and grabbed the Ascent tow truck for him, i wanted him to try a good truck to interest him in the hobby. we hit the trails and I discovered the Ascent's new receiver needs calibration but I'm not in the mood to do it at this point, so I swapped out trucks and let him drive the Trail Killer, (the Comp Fox) as I don't want him fighting a controller, just smooth crawling.
he loved it!! Was immediately looking for things to climb, animal trails to follow. When I went down a ravine, he followed, then on the next one he led! no fear it was exactly what i wanted! he was simply enjoying driving the truck and learning to control it, we have a new addict in the makin!!
he got into it as excitedly as i do!, We weren't raised together, there was a whole country of space between us but he loves it as much as me and has been watching lots of videos to learn more. so freaking stoked it is a cool personal nature vs nurture experiment, nature is winning 10 out of 10 times! we have so many of the same tendencies, we watched a flick and it was like a real like MST3000 episode, just ripping both of us like it was a natural thing to do lol i digress
he lives in washington, so i wont get to crawl with him often, but I'm sending him home with my element ecto trail truck so he can get out and rip some trails.
it was a great thing for us, we got a chance to walk thru the woods and laugh as brothers as we havent been able to. we spoke on our lives and i told him stories about his mom that he only got to meet in the past 10 years or so.
again this hobby comes along to help me in my life. \i didnt get much video as i was too interested in just being there with him.
we both broke trucks!! i swear he is definitely my brother in blood and spirit! i threw the tires off the redcat ( just need a dab of the blue and will be good as new) and theres a twitch to the servo on the comp fox, (99% sure its just a wet reciever?) ( its a raw 500 so it should be good to go but the reciever...... meybe not so much lol)
