I am getting ready to break in my new OS .21TM tomorrow that I have just installed on my Revo 3.3.:) The only Nitro engine I have experience breaking in was the TRX 3.3 that came with the Revo. The break in instructions that came with the engine are a little vague to me. If anyone has any suggestions or has experience with breaking in an OS .21, your help is greatly appreciated!:)

I found these on this site. Maybe this will help?:\

This is the method I used and it seemed to work well. Like you, the only break-in I had done was on a TRX3.3 also. The thought process behind this makes sense to me and I'm hoping that it will work out in the long run.
Heat Cycle Method

Don't use Traxxas fuel in that engine. It will not like it. Use a good fuel such as O'Donnell's, Sidewinder, Byron's or Trinity. No more than 12% oil is needed. Any more will just make it run hotter.
I broke mine in at 200-220F without touching the LSN.
I idled one tank slightly revving it, then heat cycled the rest.
After about 1/2 gallon went through it I tuned for performance.
On a hot humid day you may see temps as high as 280F, don't worry. That is normal for this engine. Always tune for performance and smoke, temps lastly.
Cooler weather it performs great at much lower temps.
I have over 2 gallons of Byron's 25% race fuel on it now and it still runs perfect.
Preheat the engine when it is cold and it will fire up easy and idle nicely.

Thanks

Thanks for the advise. I currently have almost a full gallon of Traxxas 20% fuel. I dont know what I will do with the rest of it but it looks like I will be making a trip to the hobby shop:whhooo: Dang, more money again!
