Hey guys I have three traxxas cars now, i love them all. I have the t-maxx 3.3 4907, the 1/16 E-Revo ( which i have to much money in lol), annd the newest meber the slash ultimate 4x4.

I havnt owned anything but traxxas and was wondering about other brands, like team assiated and losi. I'm a basher but i do race everyother weekend and was wondering what trucks or short course truck you guys recomend besides traxxas. And my price range is 0 to about $800 maybe a 1000 depends on what you guys say. I am kinda looking at the baja 5t or the new baja 5sc both made by hpi. What do you sujest or recomend?

Associated sc10 for racing, the SC10 is a bit fragile compared to the slash and blitz but is MUCH faster around a track due to its lower CG and more race bred design as they are based of a T4.

The Blitz is a good allrounder and tough as nails. better than the slash as it has less tendency to roll in corners but a little bit slower around a track than a sc10.

I personally own a sc10 and I love it. What I did is I brought the factory team kit and then got a used roller for parts, when I break something I replace it so I always have atleast an entire spare car in spare parts, as i am a dedicated racer :D I am not sure about the other types of SCT on the market as they have not hit Australia yet and no members have them.

You should check out the HPI Savage Flux HP or the Flux 2350.

The Baja is a totally different animal. I have a 5T and a pair of 5B's and the fun factor running them us unmatched. You do need to consider where you will be running one. They need some real estate to really stretch it's legs.

HPI is a solid brand like Traxxas and has excellent parts support.

I have run most of the major brands and each has it's advantages. As a basher, I prefer toughness and functionality to bling for the most part. I prefer Associated for minis and micros. I like Traxxas for 1/10 and 1/8 scale. And as for large scale the HPI Baja 5 series is king.

I'm pretty much dieing to get my hands on an hpi. Thinking about picking up that new 1/12th sct for my next rig. It will fit my budget well.:) I have never heard a bad thing about hpi. The mini raminator(mlst2) from losi left a bad taste in my mouth. All plastic gears, even in the diffs. It handled great though. My buddy built the 1/8th sct from Associated last year. It was bad to the bone, even on only 3s. The quality and fitment of the parts was perfect. Every major brand will have some strengths and weaknesses. 90% of the weaknesses are parts availability. Most places I've been in stock more Traxxas parts than all the other brands combined. Kinda lame...

Well i have plenty of room to runt the baja 5t i have 5 acers with a track for dirtbikes but works great with rc's to

Go for the 5T then. It would be right at home on a dirt bike track.

For $4 of fuel you get hours of runtime and the WOW factor is unmatched by any other RC. IMO

I must warn you that the after market support for the HPI Baja is huge and is likely to put a strain on your wallet if you don't restrain yourself. LOL

yea, i hear nothing but good about the savage HPI. that's what i'll get if i ever get rid of my traxxas.

HPI has just introduced a short course version of the Baja 5t. It looks just too cool.

ya i sa that looks pretty cool. guess i will do some research on it and see if its a good match.
