Good point on the slipper. Ill have to check into that. The mill is still brand new aside from the few minutes I had it running. It did get too hot during one attempt. That should have clued me into the fact that the LSN was set way too lean. It probably ran for about 5 minutes total over 3 stints. Now that I have the proper factory settings ill just do a once over on a few things and hopefully ill be able to do a good break in.

Wait you still have this? Wow thats nuts, thought someone dusted of a dead thread.

Awesome build Lessen you do AMAZING work!

Of course I still have it. Once you dump this much money into a tmaxx there's no getting rid of it.

I'm hoping to have another go at it today. I got my carbon at factory setting gs to start. I've rerouted my radio for better reception, changed the position of the rotor start, checked my slipper which was ok but I went ahead and just tightened it down all the way. Well see...

Make sure to make a flick of it runnin! Lol sorry I just assume everyone is like me, get it, spend $$ into it, then sell it....

Not anymore though..

Its one of few that I havnt gotten rid of. I still have my nitro buggy and GT2 as well. Although I never really got good at running.g nitro I still think they're cool as heck.

Was going over the truck... flywheel isn't tight on the crankshaft. So there ya go.

*edit*

Man, I had a devil of a time getting this flywheel tight. I think it got wore a bit from spinning on the collet. I found a spare collet and tried that but it still wouldn't tighten down enough. Not sure how this is going to work but I cut a narrow strip of aluminum foil a couple inches long and wrapped the collet with it. Slid the flywheel over it and trimmed the excess off the back using a hobby knife. Finally, it seems good and snug on the crankshaft so hopefully it'll stand up, otherwise I'll probably need a new flywheel... or I just steal the setup on my buggy.

I had to pull the engine and use a tire tool to tap the setup snug onto the shaft and it worked great. try that maybe but be very gentle on her lol

Apparently I blew out my one-way bearing when I was tightening down my flywheel. I was snugging it and all of a sudden it popped and everytime I put torque on it, it would slip. I took everything apart and cleaned it, but I just put the drill on the roto-start and it just slips. Frickin A. $24.99 @ Amain and out of stock.

I wonder if I can get the actual one-way bearing out of the housing, if I can find the bearing itself somewhere and press in a good one...?

Shouldn't be able to damage it by tightening a flywheel. What's it look like? I have new owb I'll give you if you think you can press out the old. This sometimes doesn't work too well unless you loctite the sleeve when pressing it back together.
I have had new ones slip in the sleeve also.

I'll explain precisely what I did...

1. Removed roto-start backplate.
2. put 10mm socket on the roto-start shaft hex
3. put cross wrench on flywheel nut
4. Tightened... popped HARD (previous to this, there were no issues getting the flywheel nut tight[er] as this was like the 4th attempt at getting the flywheel to keep from slipping. At this point the flywheel nut is tight and the flywheel is firm to the crankshaft. I just overdid it, totally my fault.
5. Testing.. at this point everytime I put torque on the flywheel nut, it "pop-slips" easily
6. Took entire roto-start apart and cleaned one-way/shaft etc.
7. Put everything back together
8. Tried turning over engine with freshly charged drill. Turns roto-start but will not turn over engine.

Randy, thanks for the offer fine sir. However, I've already pulled the one-way out and found the proper bearing at BocaBearings website. I just put my order in. $15 free shipping. Just gotta figure out how I'm going to pull the bearing out of the casing.

The small engraving says HF0812 which is what I searched for. 8x12x12. Common use was stated as r/c car so I figured it was a fair gamble. Now, do I press it out the top or bottom? I assume top as that's most likely the direction it went in from??

Ok, first of all... quick shipping from Boca. Alredy received my bearing standard 1st class (free).

So which direction do I pound this thing out Randy?

If you look at the picture up a couple posts you ll see the actual one way bearing is inside of a metal case that has notches for the back of the crankshaft. It has a crack in it. I'm gonna have to special order that through the LHS. I can't even find it online by its part number. Sucks. At least I have two other nitros I'm working on...

Man... I remember when you started this project. Very nice rig indeed. You are very right about how if you put money into a Maxx... you are with it for life. I have so much wrapped up in my Maxx... that will be one rig I will have for life. That stinks about the crack...
