Battery voltage lipo's

Regular lipo or LiHV? Regular lipos charge up to 4.2/cell and LiHV can charge up to 4.35/cell.

If on regular lipos some racers might overcharge to around 4.22v/cell so it's is actually fully charged when you pull if off the charger as most of the time the voltage goes down to 4.19/4.18. sometimes the smallest amount can change alot to pro racers. Me? I'm not pro. I run LiHV and even though I race in stock classes I still charge to 8.7v while the rule is 8.44 max at most tracks. Just for having fun not really being competitive. (I will do 8.4v if I race in a awards or cash race)

But yes over charging can and is risky.

Racing in stock/spec classes racing brings out the best in people... sarcasm 🤔. Heck, just signing up at the track gave me anxiety... competitive nature sets in eventually. Discharging, and charging packs at insane amperages will decrease internal resistance. Having the highest allowed voltage at the line (like Mr. Bomb Pop mentioned), with cells warm... people will do whatever it takes to have that "advantage". Crashing one time probably negates that battery voodoo advantage stuff. Some places will have charging rules. So there's that.

Everyday "basher" just fun running with your toys.... keep LiPo cells healthy. Only charge to 4.2v/cell.
