Battery plugs

guess I'm the lone guy still running Deans (T plugs) as if it was 1999.
Nah, there's at least like three of us. Just don't feel like swapping all my ESCs over honestly. LOL

Deans T type on all 1/10 and 1/12 scale. That's ESC to battery. Then bullet connector to the batteries. I get those fancy bullet batts.

I try to keep it universal between all the vehicles.

I race and bash. Usually at the same time, HA.

I was into rc in the late 80’s early 90’s and used Tamiya before moving to deans. My grandfather gave me his weller 140/200 watt gun to solder the deans (estimating the numbers here). I’m now on QS8 using the same weller after a 30 year hiatus.

Amass XT60 & XT90 :celebrate:
Then a shorty pack was needed... 4mm bullets.
Then 4mm bullets weren't enough... 5mm bullets
When will it stop?

I'm going back to Anderson Powerpoles.

:hehe:
Just kidding. I did use them for the longest time before T-plugs.

I was wondering why they aren't really used anymore. Back in the day, that's what you run. Easy to solder, easy to assemble.

Now it's like T type? EC wha?
The ecosystem moved on, and the center of gravity moved away from the US.

Big motors need big amps, more than the 55A that the Andersons are rated for.

They’re hard to manufacture. The connector housing is part of the critical path, which makes molding and material selection realty important. The connectors we use now are pins into sockets, which means the housing is (mostly) just there for insulation and stability. Much more forgiving to manufactur.

Anderson is probably a bit more interested in going after copycats than Amass. Lots of knockoff XT60s out there for really low prices.

If you’re a Chinese manufacturer, which one are you gonna go with?
