i had just purchased a red cat twist pro stadium truck , brushless, i was wondering what kind of battery i should run? I was told a 7.4v lipo 4500 or 5000, does that sound good? Or could you recommend something else?

Look and see what the motor and ESC can handle and go from there. If 2s is the max then that sounds like a good choice. The only other thing you need to look at is the c rating. Make sure you get one at least what they ask for but more is better

2WD stadium trucks run good on 2S lipos. I prefer 5000mAh or higher if they fit in the battery tray. 5000 is pretty standard they usually will fit most trays. Some 1/10 scale motors for brushless trucks can handle 3S but its been my experience that you have to hop up a lot of parts to handle the 3S power. For running on a track you will want 2S. 3S would stickly be for bashing.
