I'm trying to find a battery a kit so i can ditch these 8 aa's and use a rechargable batt pack, stupid radio sucks down batteries and they are expensive to keep replacing I've looked but i havent found any that say they are for the 2PL or the kit or plug adapter

appreciate any and all help thanks :D

Radio Shack actually carries RC 8x1.5 packs for RC. They're not the best as far as miliamps, but you can always buy better AA NiMH cells and use them in the battery pack that's in the radio. Charge them from the input in the transmitter or take out the pack to charge or swap them. That's what I do. Radio shack pack is 1600 mAh, and the others I bought to put in the battery holder that came with the radio are 2600.

None at all. If there's a battery holder in there that comes out, put the new batts in there. If you only have the + and - tabs and springs hard wired into the case, put the batts in there. There is usually a place to plug a charging jack into.

the bat. tray wouldn't come out so i took 3 of the lower screws out and heres what i have

Okay, you have a permanently mounted tray there. Just get really good rechargeable NiMH AA batts for it. Just make note of the mAH. Don't settle for grocery store batteries, (usually around 1900) but go for something in the 2600 range or better. The higher the mAH, the longer they last.

I know those are okay for NiCads, but you should really invest in a good charger.
Check the measurements listed on the bottom of the specs and see if this holder will fit your radio. If it does, you might want to get 2, and keep a set of batts charged up in the other on standby. You'll only need to solder a connector in your Tx tray and the female connector on the battery holder.

I have one of those trees in the back yard. It's seems great at harvest time, but the cost of fertilizing it is really killing me. It's a break even effort. The tree is now for sale.

Get the same connectors as the Rx pack so you don't have to make multiple adapters for the charger. No problem taping the batts in or putting on a sleeve of shrink wrap.

Put up a thread for advise on a charger. Some of us here only use high end units that are over 100, so get some advise on one that would do the job for as little as possible. You might even get a deal on one here.

That's a VERY pricey site. Even the battery tray I linked to above for $1.96 is $5.00 there. The price of the charger is $5.00 more than the one above.
Get the batteries from Team FastEddy. He's a sponsor here and has his link on the forum page. That's where I got mine.
