I wouldn't even mind the smart tech if it wasn't such low end quality. Very overpriced for what you get. Horizon has never had good batteries, no reason they should start now. I've seen a lot of smart charger failures on the forums too. Can't speak for Traxxas but I imagine it's the same.

l dare all you haters to try a Traxxas 3s 5000mAh. Do it and report back. l hate traxxas as a company. Their batteries are among the best. l like gensacearespammers and l'd like to try a Protek 2s in my truggy.

I don't know what you are basing that assumption on, but there have been a couple threads now on battery quality where LiPo's were put through stress testing, true C tests, etc, and Traxxas batteries didn't do so good. Gens didn't do as well as some of the cheaper brands either. The thread here has been deleted, but there are other forums with some interesting results to tests done on LiPo brands.

l don't do tests. l test mine every day. l don't only see the power. l can also feel the power. Makes me go wow every time. And that's why l love the hobby. l'd like to see a couple more minutes of runtime but l'm a go fast sort of driver. Both of my traxxas batteries have over 400 runs on them. And still gong strong. l couldn't as for more.

Fog..... Your reply suggests you haven't run traxxas batteries. l dare you. Perform your own test. And report back. l'm pretty sure my Typhon hit 60mph last night. Under the lights. 3s. 5000mAh. 20t pinio

n gear. Wow. Had a blast.!!

How dare you put that sticker on there. That's just not right. That makes me go wow. 😅
I'm glad you got your connector "thing" worked out.
Get out there and throw some dirt
Ha.!! Cool that you caught that. l'm short on stickers so l slapped down a good one.

I have Traxxas batteries that I got with an RC. I would never pay for one. The price is ridiculous, and they aren't any better than any other brand I own, including ones that cost half as much.

So what's your preferred $40 3s 5000mAh battery.?? l might give it a go.....

If you think you are buying anything other than China, think about this... almost all the lithium on the planet comes from China. Some comes from central America. Even if a battery is said to be made in the US, the lithium cells come from China. And look at your Traxxas cars and tell me where they are made. Hint - it starts with T and ends with aiwan 😉

Even Tekno RC's are made in Taiwan. Tekin is based in Idaho, and their stuff is made in the US. They do use foreign components though, but when it comes to electronics, it's impossible not to. I don't know of any other RC companies manufacturing stuff in the US. Are there any others?

You couldn't do RC without China.
There are very few things that aren't china related. Looking forward maybe we can change that. The sad part about that is that only one man could take charge of getting that done. And the sad part about that is he only has 4 years left on the contract. Then we can hope that guy from Florida can be onboard for a four year contract backed up with 4 more years. That might get the ball rolling. We can hope.!!

Last night l ran a traxxas battery back to back with a gensacearespammers. Traxxas won that race. And l like the gensacearespammers a lot. l'm just being truthful here. So this isn't a fight. lt's like a guy who chooses a Ford truck over a Chevy truck. We love whatever we have. Me... l'll choose the Chevy every time.

Sorry dude. l don't do china.
Any consumer these days simply can’t not do China. Chinese production on some products is among the best in the world, too. CHNL are arguably some of the best batteries available at any price. And ever hear of Vitavon? Yes, there’s still a lot of junk but it’s pretty easy, at least for me, to spot it before I make a purchase.
And, despite your claim, I challenge you to walk through your house, pick up random objects you own, flip them over, and see where they’re made. I think you’ll be surprised.

l'm not surprised. l've known this for 20 years. l at least try to not order direct from cheena. We should stand together to reverse the dangers of being so dependent on such a brutal population. Wouldn't you agree.??

No, I wouldn’t characterize the Chinese as being a “brutal population“ at all. The government is certainly guilty of a number of human rights violations. And if you only ever want to buy ‘Murican you better have some deep pockets. Everybody says that, but the reality is our production can in no way compete with China. And it never will, sadly.
