Hi all,

just got my ARTR Scorpion last week - great indoor/outdoor fun.

Novak roster crawler, Fiftyfive, 2s LiPo
I started modding right away:
star cut foams, e-savage springs, e-savage body, lower links moved, shocks moved. Waiting for the servo/battery plate and some other stuff. Am thinking of making it into a tuber, but i need to do a lot of research beforehand.

I think I can hear my E-Savage crying in the back room.

You can imagine how much my girlfriend loves them, not to mention everybody thinks I am crazy.

But I couldn't care less! LOVE this crawling thing.

tubers are cool man but they imo dont perform as well because of the weight up top.

What about a better chassis?

What do you guys recommend?

Girlfriend. That explains it. I was about to say that I know you're not married, since NO wife would ever allow that.

Nice looking setup.

In the past week I have done some additional mods, all at home, the only non-stock parts being some longer screws, home-made spacers and an aluminum t-profile cut to shape and with holes drilled.

I have star cut the memory foams even though there are several posts saying not to do it, and I am not sorry. The tires still have a strong sidewall. Each front wheel has 6,4 ounces of lead attached to the inner side of the wheel, the rears have 2,6 ounces each.

The battery has moved forward leaving the back end completely void of anything but suspension. Top plate is also gone.

Mirror mod of the tranny, moving the motor but leaving the gear, making for a better weight distribution and less torque twist.

The links have been moved and shocks are now upside-down. Ride height has been lowered just a bit for a better CG.

All these mods have produced a chassis with zero torque twist which will still articulate nicely.

I am very happy with my artr at the moment, needs a beefed-up drivetrain, but performs great.

Enjoy yourselves!

That chassis will perform great when dialed in right. Consider running a dual triangulation setup to really improve performance, it will reduce the roll center as well as eliminate the rear axle steer problem that plagues the chassis, and also reduce torque twist if you haven't dialed it out yet.http://eastendmachining.com/doretrskde.html

I like my axial chassis with the EEM dual triangulation skid plates about as much as my GC2 comp rig, although I'm now building a Berg.

That's exactly what I am waiting for. Also aluminum c-knuckles, rear lock-out, HD gears and MIP shafts. Oh yeah, cvd's.

Is the eem plate narrower than stock? It seems to be as it's running uppers on the outside.

Now it looks like this:

Not much torque twist now at all.
