Hey I'm new to the hobby and picked up a few t/a cars. I got a sr10, trophy rat, and a t4. All rear motor. I know they are older but I was wondering if anyone used to mess with these and what kind of upgrades to look at. I have motors and ecu for all 3 but they are all different. I don't have many options for tracks around me so mostly just gonna rip em where I can. Any ideas on what speed these can handle safely? Any help is appreciated.

The SR10 and Trophy Rat are recent models, parts are plentiful, and in fact they share most parts other than the chassis plate and bumpers. That same basic chassis has also been offered as the Pro2 SC10, DR10, RB10, DB10 and LT10. :hehe:

The chassis length, upper and lower arms, shocks, shock towers axles, all that's different... you can swap them over and mix and match parts but they are different in size

The SR10 and Trophy Rat are still in production and theres plenty of parts around. You can still get RPM parts for the T4, but you'll have to put up with scalpers to buy OEM replacement parts.

Most of the stuff I'm seeing parts wise for the sr10 is for the mid motor. I guess what I'm really asking is if parts from other platforms cross over with my models as most aftermarket support is geared towards the newer and higher end models.

The Trophy Rat does have that narrow front shock tower and body mount cross bar (part so set 71003). There are basically two chassis plates (long and short) and two length A-Arms. The TRat (and DB10 and Pro 2 SC10) uses the long chassis and long arms. The SR10 (and RB10 and RT10 and LT10sw) uses the short chassis and short arms. The DR10 uses the long chassis and short a-arms. Of course the suspension links and dog bones have to match the A-Arms.

There isn't a ton of aftermarket parts (arms etc) for the 2wd Team Associated models in this line, but they have proven pretty durable for me.

I like them so far. I wanted something I could play with set ups on after buying a cheap Amazon one but didn't want to buy new... a month later I have 5 cars including the Amazon car and it's free replacement lol. Racing season starts in about 2 weeks so I think I'm going to take the t4 out and see how I do. I'll eventually pull the trigger on something new but I want to see what direction I want to go

Your SR10 and Trophy Rat are "5 series" platforms and will share a bunch of parts with other "5 series" platforms. Take for example the bell cranks...

You'll see, on Associated's website, the compatibility list...

Your T4, on the other hand, is obviously a "4 series" platform. But, there are a few of the "5 series" parts that will work on it, or will work with slight modification.
