I picked the kit up from Tacoma RC Raceway. They took $100 off since the new B84 is coming out. I've only made it to the first couple pages of the manual, but so far this thing is next-level! I can tell they are really going for lightweight.

These are the lightest diifs I have ever held. The internals are mostly plastic, but I'm sure they will hold up fine.

I also saw a super low price on this car recently. Also had me do a double take!!! Great price on an awesome buggy!!! 😍

They switched to all plastic diff gears on the .2? Dang my .1 has all metal. If i remember.
But hey more and more modern kits the more plastic you see I guess. I mean. lightweight. Don't blame them. But still great kit tho.
I got a .2 battery strap in my parts bin. Wanting to fit it on my .1 chassis but it looks like I need to drill out a new hole or something for the mount not sure.

I built the front and rear diffs last night, and I'm a little confused. The supplemental manual says to shim the diffs tight so you can feel the teeth when they move. How tight is too tight here? If itbfeels tight, will the plastic "wear in" a bit after a couple of packs? The rear diff seams are bit tight, but the front is definitely tighter.

Unfortunately setback... wheel hex screw broke off inside the hex...

Had that happen to me twice. Don't over torque those tiny 1.5mm hex screws. Bc if you do, strip the head or break the screw inside. Learned my lesson. Lol. I keep mine just snug instead of tight tight.

I think i may just be too used to 1/8 and 1/5 kits where I can torque them down. I. Not used to 2mm screws.
It’s not you man-Associated’s current offerings have some of the lowest quality hardware I’ve ever had come in a kit. I’ve used 12.9 stuff from Tony’s Screws on every single kit for the past 20+ years. The ONE time I did not, was with an Associated RC8B3.2 that I got an absolutely stupid deal on. I regretted that maneuver IMMEDIATELY. From blem fasteners, and trash forging’s, to incorrect threads, -it was all absolute trash. Even the heads were all worn roughly 50% during install only.. I use quality tools, and my tips were all money. Looked like I had gone through full tear-downs on the vehicle 7-8 times, and these were all MIP, and ProTek Ultralight HAND drivers… Seriously looked as though I’d put it together with some bargain basement ball end speed tips on an impact driver.. 😳 Never had fasteners this soft as far back as I can remember.

I grabbed a screw kit from Tony’s and rebuilt the entire vehicle. Night and day bro. Crazy…

Despite a couple of snags, this build is going quite smooth. Those kashima shocks arw quite nice. I had a couple problems with the 2mm screws, bit everything else has gone great!

Well, progress has been slow. Been so busy with work and life in general. I feel likenthe wire management could be better, but i think that's about as good as it's going to get for me!
