Well, I sold a few things and been saving some money. And, I bought another RC car. It’s a Tiyphon buggy.

It’s my first buggy. The car is a V5 I think. Originally thought it was a V4. I truly don’t know anything about it. Zilch. I’m even more green to this rc model than I am to the big rock I bought 6-8 weeks ago.

It looks good. Clean. Only been a street runner from what it looks like. Comes with the original tires too.

I had to buy a tx/rx. I elected for the stock one. It’s supposed to be here Friday. The car is supposed to be here tomorrow.

I bought a set of 138 mm 6s Mojave knock offs. I ordered a set of pinion gears 15-19. Hardened steel. I ordered a set of hub extenders. I’m going to run it stock and with the extenders for a while before I decide how The car ends up setup. I ordered a screw kit. I also ordered a tlr chassis. Going to swap it out first break down.

I’m excited as heck. Anybody got some advice on how to set this up for off road grass and dirt rips? Any tips? I’m all ears for any advice.

Typhons are great. I have a 3s and 6s version.

eBuggies rule! So versatile. One of them RCs that I'd hate to be without Everybody's grass interpretation a bit different. Not sure on what motor/battery combo is being used. So, that being said, run the thing with stock oils/fluid thicknesses; with some big knobby tires.... you'll be good to go.

Still waiting on some crucial parts in order for it to run. Tx/rcx is supposed to be tomorrow.

I was changing the pinion gear on it this evening and stripped a motor mount screw. I’ll have to get some smaller ezy outs and try them before I start drilling and grinding. Reckon I’ll try and pick up a tap for metric machine screws m1-m4 to have them. All this alloy you can bet this won’t be the last time it happens.

Replacement screws will be here Sunday. You gotta love buying used RC’s.

Yes Arrma puts a lot of loctite to those screws. They need heat to soften the threadlock before attempting to turn the screws.

Is it the motor screws or the mount adjustment screws?

If its the adjustment screws on top, I recommend changing them to socket head screws 12.9 grade.

Another thing to consider is the quality of your hex drivers. Although those 2 screws are known for stripping, cheap tools will prematurely do this too.

My suggestion would be MIP. Hard wearing, tight fit, big grip handles.

MIP handles big? I used to think so . They certainly are bigger than a lot of fancy aluminum handled stuff out there.

Well, I got it put together last night. And, just finished my first run. This thing is a frigging screamer. Wow it’s fast.
