My girlfriend has had her Typhon for a few weeks and ran it maybe 6 or 7 times and recently we have noticed that the front right wheel has been getting locked upwards and the ball joint get jammed up when hitting a rough patch

How can we fix this?

Do we need to stiffen the suspension?

On my Typhon blx that area can get stuff jammed in there that keeps parts from moving freely. Just a thought.

I think he was politely suggesting you clean it, lol.
Hmm, well it's not very dirty and I do not see any dirt in the ball joint but I'll give it a shot. I'm waiting to get a couple cans of air duster and tools from my shop. I'm nervous to break it down all the way to really clean it.

Jennysrc.com for the 6s aluminum shocks. I am not sure which kits you need to order.
If you measure your shocks eye to eye, uncompressed, you'll can ask Jennys and they'll tell you all the options they have for you to try. 👍

Sorry, Arrma. Those 3S shocks have got to be the cheapest made shocks I've ever encountered. Yeah, $7 for a pair of shafts/perches and you're up and running again. Beside the shock shafts being hot pressed into the perches, I think it's just the over extension of the shaft/piston and plastic shock bodies that deform just a bit... just enough to prevent smooth piston movement during landing. 🤔

Okay, so should I upgrade to the 6s shocks? Which types of shocks tend to be the most durable?
Sorry about the questions . I'm new.

Sorry, for the late reply. I linked the Arrma forum "sticky thread" (threads at top of sub forums because they are deemed important)

in your other post that's in the Suspension category. I believe the flexibility of the composites that Arrma uses is great, but for the 3S platform's shocks, the composite/plastic wasn't the best idea.

Top of the line shocks with hard coated bodies are not cheap. Molded pistons vs. machined pistons; TiN coated shafts, composite caps vs. aluminum... lots goes into a most excellent damping units. 😁 :thumbs-up:

I think a lot of of 3S Typhon owners use shocks from the 6S line up... bigger bore, bigger shafts🧐😁... good to go.

Well that's fine, I'm not to worried about the pricing as long as they last and are much more durable

They will be better than your current shocks. More durable, operate smoother.

Shocks will not take direct abuse. If you are in a crash and someone smacks one, its prob still gonna bend.

The metal bodies and larger capacity felt much smoother than my plastic 3s versions.
I would expect you to find the same thing. 👍
