  1. Bashing
I've been having problems with my radio system on my ofna jammin x1. well yesterday i had another radio glitch and was trouble free for a while thinking i had it straightend out until today doing some bashing and it just took off on its own w.o.t and shot down easily a good 3 blocks bouncing off curbs and trees left and right, and finally ended upside down still w.o.t. with the front and rear suspension destroyed on it, and the motor just boiling hot. i just immidiatly plugged the exhaust with my finger to shut it down, and it quit instantly....but if i find out i destroyed my jammin jpx .28 cuz of this radio i will be selling a certain spektrum in a heartbeat....the motor was sizzling for a good 5 minutes after it took off on me. i took off running after it instantly so i didnt have my i.r temp gun with me to see if i possibly cooked it. after i was calm enough to attempt to start it again to try burning some fuel out of it and to see if it would start, i got it started. started as if nothing happened to it. but it kept dieing after i gave it fuel at all. so I'm just curious if there is anything to look for with the engine now. or what. i put a good amount of after run in it and spun it over some. still has awesome pinch to it and doesn't seem like anything is wrong. I'm just worried is all, as this motor is a freak, and awfully expensive to replace if it is done

that suks man hope its alright
as for advice... well i got none because I'm still new at this hobbie

Not much you can do at this point but hope for the best. Hopefully you put the piston at bdc as soon as you shut it off, adding the aro was a good idea too. That's why I run a failsafe on all my rigs, however if it is a receiver pack issue a failsafe would not have helped. Check your on/off switch too, maybe get some contact cleaner put a squirt in there and switch the switch on and off a bunch of times. The contacts can get dirty and shut off power to the receiver.

well i got some help on the radio section. and what actually happened was my fail safe was set back wards due to the servo being reversed. i think i have the radio figured out, so I'm doing a charge on the toys and gonna see if the jpx will come back to full health....and yes it was bdc after i stopped it. if it was that hot to spit steam out the exhaust for a bit afterwards i was worried bout that

just a heads up. i have had this experience when the solder joints on my on off switch was getting loose. Every time the wire lost connection to the battery it would kick the throttle servo up a notch causing the truck to go faster. Not sure if fail safes will work in that situation too but I thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

I'm thinking my switch has something to do with it. becuause of the fact that recently my charging jack quit working on it, and have to remove the battery evrytime to charge it now. which was also causing my fail safe problems too...i think I'm just gonna order a switch for it and call it good

i took the switch apart, and all the contacts are firm and arent loose. i cleaned it with contact cleaner. but the charge jack still doesn't work in it. no biggie....on a side note i wouldve been able to get the truck back out to test the motor if it wasn't for a broken shock i just found this morning. and a bent shaft on the right side...she hit something hard :( poor kid

well, today is a horrible day...the wreck stated earlier in this thread chunked a jpx .28 for me :( i soooo badly wanna slam this damn radio in the ground...got the truck started today. started up like normal, but was actually pouring fuel out the exhaust soo much that the muffler filled up 2x full of fuel. leaned the crap out of it and got it to where it would stay running after you gave it any fuel. ran 2 tanks thru it today chasing the tune all over the place. had the high speed and low speed soooooo rich that it would burn your eyes from the fuel in the air just trying to tune it, yet the motor was still around 240 for temps. you richen it up more and it would cool down maybe 3 degrees. so i was just running it trying to get a tune then all the sudden she died. ran out of fuel. filled it, and turns out the engine grenaded when it ran out of fuel...I'm soooo pissed it isnt even funny

well i have it tore down...busted the rod off the piston, and chipped the piston skirt. i might just end up putting a new piston/rod and sleeve in it and start over on it....not a good start to my weekend tho :(

That's terrible news! Since you got 2 tanks ran through it though before she was cooked,"How's your radio working now?"

LOL, the radio was fine after i got it rebound. but it wass till its fault thursday nite causing this engine damage. oh well can't change the past though.

It was an expensive lesson no doubt but now you can have a new mill with a properly working radio. Don't you just hate the hard knock life sometimes? LOL

yeah, but with te price of that motor its gonna be a while before the ofna is up and running. i guess i ran focus on getting my revo 3.3 running again. it also needs an engine, but its 1/3 the price as the jpx i just blew up

thought id upload pics of the baby carnage....got lucky that the crank case is still good along with everything else with exceptiopn of the rod/piston
