Ok guys, I have this small problem I have two fish in my tank that I have had for a year. I read some where that as they get older they get meaner... like sucking other fishes eyeballs out. Well now it has came to that point. I was wondering what some of you fish owners would do. I know this isnt a fish forum. If I was to post on one I would get flammed for wanting to kill them.

Ususally the fish shops around here will gladly take them for you, some even give you store credit or something in exchange. I've had to do that when my algae eater got too big.

I’m down to one Jack Dempsey in my tank and I hope he dies soon. He has managed to kill everything else in the tank and has been the only fish for 4 years now. The older he gets the more aggressive he is. I can’t even keep anything more then rocks in the tank. He destroys everything else I have tried to put in there.

well In the tank I have 3 angel fish... two of them spawn every two weeks and then two of these guys. http://fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/638.htm I want them to live but at the same time I dont want someone to buy them and then they start to kill all of there fish. I have had all of these fish since I have started the fish hobby. I didn't know what I was doing when I first started... just like rc cars. My one angel fish is beaten up badly by these Chinese Algae Eater. Right now I have them in a breeder net so I can decide what to do with them.

the 2 algie eaters will attack the angel fish after a while thats the only prob ull have do wat monkey said about the fish shop thing. i have fish , i have 3 gold fishys and 2 bottom feeders in 1 tank and then i have my pirhana :) i did have 8 pirhana but they ate each other so now have only 1 :'( BTW this pirhana is the Red Belly kind :)

Why would you get bashed for killing a fish? I kill mine all the time when they don't play nice. I buy only comunity fish, but I'll get the occasional one that becomes "non-communative" so I flush it.

I used to buy cichlids like Oscars and dempseys, but they are just too messy and I like having more than 2 fish in a 50 gallon aquarium. Granted, I could throw a few dempsies in there, but they always just beat each other until one dies and the other is sick. So I stopped and just buy community now.

I have in the past done the same thing.
I used to have 6 Oscar's in a 250 gallon tank..
It was nothing to get up in the morning to see a fish all beat up.

Just flush and be done with it.IMO

If you are really that concerned just seperate them. Put one in a 10 gallon or larger tank and leave the other in the original tank.

i have a red devil and boy hes a total killer

Wow that is huge.
Voice from the back of the room" Thats what she said."
lol

What do you feed that thing? feeder fish? If so goldfish or guppies.

HB I had four of thoes in my 250 gallon tank. But a little bigger. No joke..They were about 12 years old.I had to feed them 100 gold fish a week..
100 fish would be gone in a night..Then I would have to change my filters twice that week.
It got to the point I was spending around 75$ a week feeding and cleaning the tank..

Ill try and find the pic's
I posted them here years ago.
