I freeride so no standard helmet will suffice, so I use an M2R Revelation X3 MX helmet. A tad bit heavy, but this noggin is too important to trust anything less.
Oh dude, the Cannon is a niice ride. As it's name implies, it handles scalpel sharp. The Lefty carbon fork rocks too.
You got a great bike Dale. You didn't ONLY buy Trek, you also a got Gary Fisher designed frame too. G/F is/was one of the best bikes money could buy at one point in time. Trek recently bought them out and still carries the brand name and the build quality. Yea..you got a great bike my friend. My Cannondale is sweet, but a sweet ride costs a sweet penny. I started biking after I got my knee surgery and told myself that if I could survive a ride on the Katey Trail, then I'd buy myself a new bike. I ended up riding a mile, a week after surgery. Then I bumped it up and up and up, until eventually I rode for 30 miles. My reward to me, how sweet lol.
This thread is really giving me the itch to go riding again. My job just moved this week so it's a little further away now. The bike route goes from 8 to 13 miles and there's a BIG ASS hill on the way home. It's ultra intimidating. We just bought our little boy his first upright bicycle. It's a little Specialized. He's pretty excited. Unfortunately it has rained since we brought it home.
Also picking up the two kids at Daycare in the evening would pose a problem.
