Any DeadHeads out there?

I was never really a big fan of the dead until about my junior year of high school and me and a buddy were having a keg party in the woods in the middle of a drought and it poured like hell on the way. As we drove to the site Touch of Gray was on my buddy's tape and as it played it started to clear up, so we played it over and over until the clouds were gone and the show went on without a hitch!

Can I borrow that tape so I could finish my house?

The first, last and only GD concert I ever went to was poring rain for 2 days in San Diego.

Back in the early 80s, 81-83 I lived in a little mountain town in In Colorado on I-70 called Idaho Springs. You could tell when there was a GD concert going on somewhere in the US. No kidding, there would be hitch hikers for weeks trying to get there. You would see 10-20-30 of them every day. They would camp out wherever they were on the highway and just sit there. Never used their thumbs, they would just party until a dead head van or car would pull over. Many times they would let a group out of the car and another group would get in. They never had a penny to their name but would share whatever they had with the others. Its kind of weird but it worked for them.

Did you know that Charles Manson was a Dead Head?

you dont have to be a stoner to undrstand it, you just have to like read the lyrics, and think anout it, its nor hard.....

I'd rather eat my own hair than have to listen to the grateful dead.

But thats just my opinion........

Def Lep however.................

For me it was more about the cool artwork than the music. If I had my choice I would jam some Roger Waters or Poison :) I guess I could just never seem to get that deep into GD...

The GD chicks that were passing through were always great in bed.
Lend them my shower, hot food, some smoke, and everything was just dandy.
The best part is the traveled in groups of 2 or more. Double fun was had several times. It was great to be young and single at that time.

This alone encouraged me to get to know the music a little better :p:

I lived in Chicago when they played at the World Music Theater in Tinley Park. The traffic getting in was horrible and the concert was starting and all the "freaks as we called em, just left their VW buses on the side of I-80 and ran across a field to get to the show!

Yeah, not a big DH here. Never really like their misic, would perfer the Doors or Stones to them from that peroid.

Why does everyonr place drugs and heads together? You REALLY have to ask that????

LMAO! Man, I was with ya until the last line. I would rather eat my own hair before listening to Def Lep either.

Every dead head I ever met was a major drug fiend, and needed a shower, lol.

Ah c'mon, how can anyone not love a band with a one armed drummer!!!!!

I'm sorry but I'm with NC on this one. I would rather listen to Def Leperd than the G.D. though. At least the lead singer doesn't sound like he has a mouth full of poop all the time.
And yeah, who would have thought that when people think of the G.D they think of drugs. Maybe because all the dudes are long hair hippys, who need a shower, some toothpaste and a cup of coffee. Also starring into the sky everytime I've ever seen them cuz there in La-La land in there tied died shirt doesn't help either.
