I never understood the "Dead Head" life style but I do like most of their music.
Someone who has dedicated their life or a a period of their life to following the Grateful Dead.

:Sorry but this is one of the stupid threads since "I'm pulling my GMC with my King Losi". I didnt know what the hell a dead head was until someone had mentions it, so dont feel bad Nitro (and I'm almost 26) But I definatly have to say that the greatful dead blew some serious nuts if ya ask me. Its sad when a group is known more for being dope and crack heads than putting out good music. But what even bugs me worse is all the lil hippy stoners with all there tie died crap who are like 16-18 who dont even know what its about. (Granted I'm only 25 and dont know what the whole "Hippy" poop is about, and thats why ya wont see me wearing it). But The G.d. Without the drugs and there stupid bear logo, they wouldnt even be remembered. But again, thats just my opinion.

yeah, a DeadHead is basically someone who is DEADicated to the grateful dead, their music, and living a grateful life style, yes, basically a hippy....the Dead are the greatest band ever to grace this planet, Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter, together are the greatest combination of lyrics and music....for the most part, yes, i ony listen to GD, i have over 1200 cds of Grateful Dead alone, most are bootlegs, which are allowed....the GD allowes recordings of their concerts, so obliviously, over the 40 year period they were around, for the most part, they didint stop touring..so i have over 200 shows....but i also listen to alot of other stuff...mostly old stuff (you might say) but todays music is CRAP!! hhaha other bands that I also listen too are Neil Young, Frank Zappa, The Doors, Hendrix...and some new bands i also listen to are, Phish, Ratdog( one of the former GD members band) Phil Lesh and Friends(another GD members band)...some others....and yes, i have listened to every single CD i own, which is over 3500....
Being a DeadHead, doesent just come to you onw day, i started listening to GD long before i knew what a DeadHead even was, and naturally, after listenig to GD, i just kinda starter adapting ways of life, then, you have to learn the ways of a real DeadHead....

its not only you, but it fiddlesticking sucks when people only see drugs coming out of the GD...its more then that, and the majourity are either trippin, or have tripped in the past, but why do people have only see drugs when they see GD?

Not to diss ya or anything and its great to see such dedication to music in general, but I think that in order to "Get" the greatful dead, a person has to do/or have done some major drugs to understand there music. And when someone hasnt, they dont "Get" the greatful dead and dislike them. Me, I've smoked a lil yay but not enough to understand jerry Garcia, or the greatful dead..lol..evan811 said:
