I broke my antenna wire and heard that you have to use the same brand wire of the raido. I have an xr2 do you know where i can order another antenna wire. I would solder it but lost the other half of my antenna. (d'oh) and I can't buy a new reciver because i am only 13 and have no cash flow.

you dont need to have the same brand wire. Your LHS should have some antenna wire you can use to solder back onto the receiver. If they dont have any you can check out an electronics shop or possibly the hardware store. Or order online from Towerhobbies. Regardless you looking at about $2-$3 for the wire.

Heres a good article on how to replace the wire. If you have never soldered anything before ask someone who knows how. If you heat the circuite board you can fry the components.

ill second that.just go to your lhs and for 2 to 3 dollars you can pick up new wire.i have did this my self.at least 4 times now.just make sure that you get the proper length on it so it will match your old one...or you can do what i do and resolder it to the reciver and let it stick out of the tube about a 1/3 of the way down..this is what i have done in the past and has worked for me.
