Ok, so the things that were suggested worked!!! My car had issues with stalling out. I worked with the LSN and HSN and now the car will run. Here is my problem...it's still not getting the speeds it should. One thing I need to know is...on my Tx...I have a TH Trim dial. When I have this at it's lowest...the car will sit still. If I pump it up...the car will go forward. Well today...I had it cranked up and I let the car go alittle to far out of range....let's just say I could've probably sent a video to America Funniest Home Videos. I chased that thing down the road a bit until finally it ran into some grass. Now, you may think I should've been able to catch the car, but NO! Without pressing the gas, it goes faster than I can run. And when I would give it some gas...it would slow down. So as long as I kept my finger off the trigger, it ran pretty quick. Not like it should, but ok. But like I said, if I pulled the trigger, it would slow down a lot.

Help please??

first off , with your trim set to lowest , thats like your finger on the brake the whole time. The fact that when you turn up the trim the car starts moving means one of two things: 1:the servo is not set right and is not at center with trim on center. 2:your idle is WAY too high and with the trim set to brake, your engine is still turning and your gonna burn your slipper.

What you need to do for solution #1 is :

1:Loosen the set screw on the throttle rod and unscrew the brake screw.

2:NOW, turn your THROTTLE trim on your remote to CENTER

3:Turn on remote and then receiver and your servo will sit at normal center.then turn off receiver first, then remote.

4:Your throttle linkage rod should be resting where it should, so slide the set screw towards servo horn until it butts with it.Tighten screw.

5:now screw your brake thumb screw back somewhat close to horn, but not butting,so brakes DO NOT engage with the slightest touch.

Now that's done, start up car and see where your idle is at and adjust to normal. WITHOUT touching your trims. Normal is high enuff to NOT die...but low enuff to NOT make truck roll while idling.

As far as it going slower when youy give it gas....is it making a bogging sound or anything strange?

Let me know if this helps or i missed something.

Also... check to see if you have to flip your switch on the xmitter to make the servo work backwards. Normally reffered to as "REV". From the way you described it, pulling the trigger made it slow down. What did it do if you pushed the trigger forward?

When i pushed the trigger forward, it would completely break.

But!!! After I posted, I went out and started tuning again. I finally got the car going! Well, not completely going. Here's the story in a nutshell. I started trying to work with the LSN and HSN. I finally got it to run with the TH Trim dial just shy of the middle mark. So basically, if I push that dial alittle further, the car will pull slightly. So anyways, I ran my car (HPI RS4 3 evo) on it's first tank. It wasn't going very fast. It has alittle speed, but nothing worth calling my friends about.
Well what I noticed was that right before the car died due to fuel tank running out, it would all of a sudden ZOOM!! So, I added another tank of gas...started running it again. It was back to it's speed that I wasn't impressed with. But again, right before the engine died, it picked up a major amount of speed for a second, and then died. So then a light bulb went off in my head! Now remember, I've only been playing with this R/C stuff for 2 days now and been reading my a$$ off! I thought, "if my car all of a sudden has a burst of speed when the fuel runs out...that means it pulls in a chunk of air for a second and then dies". So, i tuned down how rich I was running and added air. Sure as sh**, I filled up the tank with gas...and now...that baby huals a$$!!!!!! w00h00!!!!

I've still got a few other minor things that I need to look into. Like my car pulling to the right slightly while driving. But the car is running. You guys have been a HUGH help so far with getting my car going. Much Thanks!!!!

Yeah, we've been kind of advising you on this here: https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40164

Glad you got it running, just watch your temps. Anything over 270 for an extended amount of time is the death knell for that mill!

Glad to hear you got your rig up and running. It is advisable that if you know you are about to run out of fuel, it is better to stop and refill rather than have the engine lean itself out. Also remember to use after run oil and set your piston to BDC (bottom dead center)when you are done for the day or whenever you are allowing the engine to cool. This will help you prolong the life of your engine.
While you are still in this learning to tune phase, remove the heatsink head at the end of your day and look at the surface of the piston. If you are getting excessive pitting, it is a sign that you are running too lean.

To see where BDC is, remove your exhaust header and slowly spin the flywheel until you see piston arrive at the bottom of its stroke. Now mark your flywheel with nail polish or a sharpie so you will always know where to turn it to hit BDC.
