I got the new set yesterday. They had the same defect so I'm just going to get a refund. I stumbled across some Proline Bonesaw 2.8s at horrizon on clearance for $15. I'll try those out. If these suck too, I'm never ordering wheels from horizon again. I'll go with JConcepts 2.2 renegades and fork out the $$$.

Curious what you think of them!

I grabbed a set of those too on Friday just because they were cheap 😂

Also ordered a set of badlands

I now have the Duratrax Warthog 2.8 and Proline Bonesaw 2.8. All the hubs are garbage, so I am waiting on a set of the aluminum hubs. I went with the pro-line 2019 Silverado Z71 Trail Boss body.

The Bonesaw 2.8's are smaller than I thought they would be. They might be good for pavement. I definitely like the Warthogs better if judging by looks. What do you think?

The body turned out pretty nice. Just gotta get put some shoe goo and drywall tape on the underside. The lexan seems pretty thin. As soon as I get my aluminum hubs in the mail it will be good to go! What to build next...🤔 Element enduro builders kit III, Base Camp kit, Associated B7D... that's going to be a tough decision

I was just looking at the hubs on my 2.8's, nothing wrong with them, they dont even look close to the others I am seeing around here. I'ts odd really.

What paint brand & color??? That came out NICE! I'm a sucker for a nice deep blue color! 🤣

I have utter chaos going on over here!
I have 4 cars on the bench right now... you don't HAVE to choose!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I hope you LOVE those tires after your effort! Your truck looks great either way so... WIN!!! 😎👍🏻

Tamiya PS-23 Gun Metal for the side stripe and PS-59 Dark Metalic Blue for the body

Just an update. I finally found the time to drive it a bit.

Tires: The 2.8 Duratrax Warthog tires have a lot of traction and do wheelies easily, but they are less stable.
The Proline Bonesaw tires are smaller, so they don't wheelie much, but it is a much better handling tire.

Power System: I went with a Castle Copperhead paired with a HH 2700kv 540-L motor to do a 4s setup. I realized I just want to run it on 3s, so I am swapping the motor for a Castle 1412-3200kv.

Steering: Tekno took the steering stops out of the spindle design, which I feel was a mistake. The i side throw on the steering is ridiculous. If your turning tight and hit something, it can cause your tire to get hung up under the body and stick. I put some m3 screws like @RustyUs and it made a world of difference.
