Yeah I brought the buggy. It kicked ass. I did everything in my power to destroy it and only broke an A-Arm. Oh well.

I will bring the Kyosho to Cali along with the Drake. Those will probably be the only two I bring

I am glad you and WoodiE are comming. It will be nice to have 3 of the 5 staff members there. Can't wait! (to school all you fools) j/k.:buggy1:

Hot Bodies Lightning Pro. Don't buy the RR version (sorry error). The Pro version has 4mm 7075 shock towers (not 3mm 6065 ones that come on the RR). you also get 7075 chassis braces front and rear. The chassis itself is thicker and made out of 7075 on the pro version. www.hotbodiesonline.net has the specs. last i checked tower didn't even sell the pro version.

I simply cannot break it. I was purposely running my 8-port pretty rich from the day before will all the long runs on the grass. If you recall Darth's Storm also had an 8-port his wasn't even the Race version. I should have leaned it out for the BMX track, but i had so many dumb electronics problems that i bearly had to get any jumps in much less tune for the track.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEYK0&P=7

a lot of their information is copied and pasted from the RR version. it's simply not correct

directly off the hotbodies site:

4mm 7075-series aluminum shock towers

from towerhobbies:

Shocks: Four aluminum bodied, oil filled with coil-over springs and
plastic shock spacers. 0.12" (3mm) thick anodized aluminum shock
towers.

you also get better shocks on the Pro version. tower just has the copied and pasted info from the RR. if you notice the pic is the same for both and the Pro has a white and black body not that ugly yellow thing.

Well, I'm probably gonna break it sometime. But I have put my Hyper 8 PS in it, and changed out the radio, JR XR-2. I'm gonna sell my old savage since 1) it was rolling spare parts for the new one, and 2) the new one is nearly bullet proof now so refer to 1). I'm gonna bend up some aluminum for a front brace tonight since the RTR didn't come with one. Today I got to run it for about 5 minutes, and when I just about got the engine tuned the holyshitometer got pegged at 10 in the parking lot behind my office. It was too small for that thing, and storm clouds were rolling in. The RTR engine is'nt going to waste either, it's in the old savage that's gonna get sold, and that engine has never been run.

All in all, I'm happy with the RTR for now,but it needs the sway bars and the front brace. Any tuning tips for the brakes and meshing the CB would be greatly appreciated.

i know the pro version is supposed to come with break bias adjusters. none of them did and you had to call hotbodies to get them. i don't know if the rr version is supposed to come with them or not.

as for CB mesh, i just use the paper thing. i put the cb right up next to the spur gear as close as possible then a "roll in" a piece of paper between the gears. this pushes the engine a small amount away from the spur gear. i though that's how you do it on all RCs.

By brake bias adjusters, I guess my rtr has them. There are two brake calipurs with two rods comming from the throttle serve on the brake side. Each one has a collar, a piece of tubing and a round ball on one end of the rod that goes thru each brake lever, then it's threaded into a thing on the servo horn. So I can adjust them independantly.

Does this make any sense? Maybe a picture would help, but I'm not at home right now.
