After going to the bash this past weekend i learned something that i never thought i would say. it has two parts.

RobH's Lightening pro is one hardcore buggy. While not as fast as Darthracers Storm - it was the only buggy that didnt break. And lemmi tell ya - the whole crew was anxious to get him to break it too. My GT broke, even Christians Inferno broke - but not the Lightening - and he was bashing as hard as the rest of us.

The Losi XXXNT is a better truck than the RC10GT. The stock mach 15 in the RTR is frigging amazing! Watching Imbroken's and Msly's losi's tear it up impressed me to no end. I now have the upmost respect for that vehicle.

So in conclusion - If you are thinking of getting the HB lightening Pro - get it! u wont be unhappy. If you are thinking of getting a XXXNT - get it, its amazing. And if u are thinking of getting the .21 hyper 8? well.......make sure you have plenty of extra pullstarts......just ask woodie, and fdarthracer, and ect.......

Me and a buddy were looking at getting buggies. The HB lightning seems pretty good for not alot of $$$. I was looking on Tower at the difference between the Pro and the RTR. As far as I could tell the only difference was the clutch, 2 shoe for the RTR,and 3 shoe aluminum for the Pro. Is that all? Or is there something Tower missed?

ask robh for more info, as he is the one that has it, but if i am correct - he says dont get the RTR. first - i think the pro also comes with 7075 instead of 6065 aluminium - this is a big deal. plus - it has no radio gear. the engine in the lightening sucks, and needs to be replaced, as does the radio in the RTR version.

Well crap, I just got the RTR yesterday, but I immediately put my Hyper 8 in it and I'm gonna fab up a front brace tonight, also gonna put my JR radio in it. The stock radio does suck. But what else bites on the RTR? Rob, any thoughts?

Funny thing about the RTR stock engine, it looks just like the 21BB in the savage, but without the silk screening on the head, and the HB stickers on the case and carb. Lol, that's a hoot.

error - u will see some vids that chris and msly took of robs lightening jumping about 30ft in the air landing nose first bouncing 3 feet back into the air then keep on going. the thing was a beast!

Another funny thing about me and new vehicles. Every new one I get throws a wheel on the first run. It happened last night with the lightning, but lucily I found a penny on the ground, and soon afterwards, the wheel nut. Whew...

I guess my question was, if I put a hyper 8 in, with the JR radio and braced the front end, would the RTR lightning be worth a crap? I could live with the 2 shoe clutch for a while, and the chassis I could live with also, till I bent it.

I'm also thinking, onboard buggy cam.

i dont really know - i think even the rtr can't be that bad after seeing what rob did to his pro. take a look at the gallery - u will see some stills of those 30foot high airs!

Hey, if you are going to say my Inferno broke at least describe how small of a break it was and what I was doing when I did it ok?!?!?! lol

Hit a windshield with a rubber ball hard enough and it will break too you know!

Rob's Lightning kicked a$$ & definately held up better than everyone expected... It's a tough buggy for a great price..Great job on most of your landings too..

Christians Inferno, I thought was going to leave in a few pieces...
That thing is a beast... For the height, distance & beatings that buggy took, he came home with very minor repairs...

When the camera comes out, we all get crazy....lol

I agree when the camera is on people do stupid things, just look at those idiots that start waving to the cam when a news camera is on. There could be a triple homicide and there will be some idiot mouthing the words HI MOM with his thumbs up LOL.....

But when you start video taping bash sessions and then you have a tendency to start trying to top your last video, eventually you just start destroying things LOL...

Is that really bad?

:shhh:

Whew! You made me nerveous for a second there.......

The only thing broken on the Inferno was the A-Arm. Just so you guys know. Honestly, I dont know if I even did that at the bash. I was hammering the hell out of it before the bash in July and could have.... well.... I dont know. 1 a-arm down.....

The look on your face was priceless when your buggy landed. Chris seemed to be in a state of disbelief for a good minute or two.

Both of the buggies took one heck of a beating and kept on driving. I was very impressed with both of them.

After tearing into my Maxx yesterday I found out that I also broke my rear skid plate. It was sheared right in half.

I dunno if that determination can really be made. How do you judge "a better truck"? How well it holds up after a 40 foot high jump landing on concrete? How it handles on a typical dirt track? How it handles on a construction site? How fast it goes at WOT?

Both are winning off road vehicles on an international scale. IMO, its about the options a person chooses when they buy or build the vehicle. Also, both trucks seem to be based on the classic philosophy (Similar compnent placement, steering arrangement Etc.).

elburro - if u search some posts - u will find out that i am a die hard RC10GT fan - and have one myself(a factory team kit) that i love very much. I also know lots of others who have the GT. At the bash - the Losi would jump higher, remain more stable, and break less. it was much faster as a RTR than many other RTR GT's i have seen. It handled better both off road, and on. it was better in every aspect.

Just wait until the West Coast as a true buggy will be there..........................:winnar:

Christian, you didn't bring your K car?
