Good. Give Redcat another year or two and folks will be like Arrma? Who's that? 🤣

The rise of Amain is one of the most interesting things that happened while I was away from the hobby. That and the demise of Novak and LRP (Yes, I know they technically back). Plus Horizon buying Losi. I did not see that coming. Traxxas's rise and direction doesn't surprise me at all.

i think he was talking about LRP. they filed for bankruptcy or something and closed pre 2020. i forget the details and exact dates.
Ahhhhh, sounded like he meant both. Or they ended up in bed together.. Yeah-Novak is Donezo, and won’t be coming back.

A significant chunk of LRP's business was tied up with HPI. When HPI went belly up, LRP went with them. They are trying to pick up the pieces. I hope they are wildly successful in their efforts.

people said the same thing about Tekin. all it takes in one person with money that wants the name.

I did not realize that Tekin had changed hands. Just that their current offerings seem like a generation behind everyone else.

Tekin hasn’t produced a new version of their 1/8 ESC in 6yrs now.. That’s more than a generation.. They’re still plenty dammit fast though. Allllllllll of my motors and ESC’s are Tekin. A couple servos, and 99% of my LiHV packs as well.

Not any faster than Cayote!

Oh we gonna play that archaic Ford vs Chevy game like a buncha dumb hicks? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣 They beat out Cayote every day. And vice versa.. Same with Elceram, Reds, LRP, HW, blah, blah, blah.. The smallblock Chevy went for 50yrs with minimal changes.. When something works well, it doesn’t require going back to the drawing board every 6mos… That being said however-I feel we are overdue for the “latest and greatest” that Tekin can offer. I literally made a thread about it less than a month ago now. 😎

With electronics the problem with not updating your design is when the parts you currently use are no longer available... and we see the end of life for cataloged products every single day.

Forced innovation is never wise and often results in a rushed (lesser) replacement product. It's always better to be out in front of it.
