I would go for the aluminum over the carbon fiber. I think the aluminum would hold up better as a clutch shoe than the carbon fiber.

i was thinkin that too. if there is a huge price difference, then i would go with carbon. if not then I'm prob. going with aluminum.

ok before you ask for them and sound ignorant to your LHS...it is not carbon FIBER...they are carbon, just carbon....second the aluminum will last longer but you have to take the time to debur the edges w/ a file after every 1/4 to 1/2 gallon.....carbon is great wear and less maintenance...aluminum will give longer lasting shoes if you keep doing the maintenance and they grab alot better.....

Plaid beat me to the Carbon thing. Good job in pointing that out! I run Carbon shoes as well, although not the standard pivoting style they are carbon none the less. Maintenance is nill and they seem to last forever.

Olds is right the teflon will last the longest...you sacrifice some of the grip but if you don't like to do a lot of maintenance then teflon is the way to go.....BTW Olds I figured you for the kind of guy that likes to tear his stuff down...LOL...I guess all teh Burly frankenstein customs you do made me think it......
