I have had this radio since September and really never ran into a problem with it, it always was smooth, no glitches what so ever, until the past 2-4 weeks, it is starting to annoy the hell out of me, for some reason when I drive my savage and run through a certain spot it will start acting up and id loose control of it (thank god for the fail safe with out it, id probably be buying a bunch of parts for my savage now lol ), usually when its behind a tree, but not always sometimes its just out in the open, and there are no power lines anywhere close.. I'm starting to get second thoughts about keeping it, but was wondering if anyone has come across this problem and has a way to fixing it? It also is the same with my rs4 (I'm currently using one receiver for both), holding back on getting another one because of the problem..

Could it be from the Frequency? Should I try a different channel? I really never though that this could be the problem but then again I never tried to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

does anyone have anything to say about this? it was still acting up today when i took my savage for a test run.

it could be the receiver or crystals going bad. No other way to check without using another rx and crystal set.

The receiver does not used crystals, it looks like this:

and admit at me :hammer: , forgot to mention that the antenna wire tore in half while I was bashing some time ago, I went ahead and prepped it and soldered it back together, I have been told before that using a shorter antenna wire than what was used by the manufacturer would effect the range, but I really never noticed it acting up right after I have soldered the antenna wire back until weeks after.

Oh, I'm sorry. You have the synthesized version. My bad. It may still be the receiver though. Especially since you said you are using one receiver and it happens on both cars. Try changing the channels first. Then you may have to get another rx to try it out. Certain synthesized rx's have been known to become damaged or even stop working because of vibration damage. one example is the JR RS300. It was replaced by the RS310 becuase of vibration issues. See if there is a similar issue with your rx.

Mine was glitching bad when I would putz around in my neighborhood. Always the same area of the street. I am using about 3 different types of synth Rx's too. Happens to all of them. Came to the conclusion the house that it happens in front of is using an illegally imported wireless device such as a internet router. As long as I avoid that part of the street I have no other problems.

But I drive my savage in the woods? Up in the hills, the closest thing to it would be a couple of small houses and a park, and then the college... what could be causing this! i also search around the net about problems with the syth reciver, but found nothing about it whatsoever.

Well, the only thing I can advise is to start with the receiver. Switch it out and see if it continues. You have to start somewhere and the receiver seems to be the common denominator since it happens with both cars and you're using the same receiver between the two.

and then the college...

maybe a college radio station...they do use similar frequencies as what you are running......maybe the higher end of your frequencies would help....or at least eliminate one possibility....
