It works great for cleaning my cars and handles airbrushing easily. The only complaint I have is it has to fill a lot because the tank isn't that big. The price is right and if you get the $20 unconditional warranty you can even not fill it up with the supplied oil, sieze the piston and exchange it like I did.:loser:

get a larger one, so it doesn't kick on all the time,, it might not apply to your specific needs, but I use a 22 gallon tank turn it on once ,, and recharge its tank once every 2 hours (or less) ,, but it's nice to not have it running constantly.. the other thing is,, get an oiless model, fiddling with oil levels and worrying about tipping it(when drunk girl roomates run around scantly clad) is not fun..
well maybe its fun,, but not for production...
lates!!

Well i use a 100 Gallon air compressor and it goes up to i think 250psi i use the regulater for air brushing but for cleaning the car I crank it all the way up and plus we also use it for car painting metal shearing, and a bunch of other air tools. But that might nopt be in your price range my dad bought like 8 years ago.i dont even know wht it is called it runs off of 220v and it is a 2 piston pump.I will need to get a pic of it.

Hey nitroking you may want to double check on the max psi on your compressor, I don't think it would be that high. My 35hp one at work only maxes out at 190. Not slammin on you just asking.

Hey Humboldtblazer, will that Craftsman 1.5hp / 2 gallon compressor run a constant 50 lbs at the airbrush? They're on sale for a couple more days for $98. thanks.

it does fine @ 50, it will kick on now and again but your painting will not be interupted.

wow 50psi, that's like blowing cake batter thru the gun eh?

haha, well tell me how the frosting comes out, i have a craving for some angelfood...

price and size, it seems perfect for my needs then. A cheap one I bought from an ebayer only put out a constant 20 (no good) Thanks for the quick reply... I'm gonna git me one tomorrow.

lol. I admire your work Wil. Some fantastic stuff. I have to admit I know very little about airbrushing.........

When I started to spray with the VL, the nozzle seemed to bubble and leak. It was only then that I realized that I still had the cap on!! Next I noticed that my cheap compressor would pump up to 50psi, but when I pulled the trigger, the line pressure would drop to 20psi. And 20 would not draw the FasKolor blue met paint out of the gun, even thinning it 50/50. A shot of paint would come out at 50 though, so I sprayed to whole job one 50psi shot at a time. shoot, (let pressure build up), shoot, (let pressure build up), shoot, (you get the idea).

Anyway, just trying to get some better equipment. My very first airbrush effort from last week is in my member gallery. Enjoyed it considering. I'll slice you a piece of my next one. :D

Can someone post a link on how to airbrush. I have a good brush and compresser but no idea on how to do it. Mix colors, blending, shlt p[ainting itself.

Cheers
